Is it worth it?

I love bows in ESO and all of the Elder Scrolls games... Is it worth trying to make a Wood Elf Nightblade which mains a bow?.. I love PvP and mainly play on my own as a hunter kind of player.. Pick my moments.. Is it worth trying to build a bow themed character?.. I just don't want to waste hours of time and effort on a character which gets owned very moment I am out of stealth. Views please! :) x

Most sniper builds tend to be the sort who snipe from stealth and either get the kill or get back into stealth to avoid being caught.

Bow gankers are definitely a viable choice and you'll get plenty of kills (and probably plenty of complaints about Miat's users), but it may take a little tweaking to go between a bow ganker who stealths and runs away from a failed gank to a bow ganker who can stand and fight after a failed gank.

See, I don’t plan to stick around once my opener is over.. Fail or success lol

Wait what? Whats the point of pvping if you don't plan on actually fighting? Go snipe some harpys if thats the case.

Sure, bow actually works in this patch (except vs people using Miats).

I posted my stamblade bow build here a couple days ago; works for ganking, 1vX, group vs group - even duels to some extent (dont duel mag dks with scales).

PLENTY of bow gank builds out there.

I open with an empowered snipe + poison injection from stealth and sometimes I dont even get a chance to ambush before they just fall over. Its sort of disappointing when that happens but makes me laugh a little every time. And I am not even built for bow damage.

Asylum bow is very strong. At range I've heard you can acid spray while the snipe is in the air and the snipe will get the buff. NBs also have spectral bow or whatever the stamina version of it is. You can time both a snipe and spectral bow to hit at the exact same time.

You need to change your mindset sir. You have this confused notion that pvp is only really pvp when you go toe to toe with someone, which is nonsense. Establishing a build precisely for the purpose of taking out players or bringing them down low from stealth is an approach just as any other in an online rpg. Period.

The majority of those who scoff or mock the idea of such a build dont even understand the nuance of crafting an all in build that has to be very careful of positioning and timing when outnumbered and being able to discern exactly who is a viable target and who isnt within a group. There is nothing more satisfying that killing a player who thinks they are safe simply because they are in a larger group that they can hide behind.

Do yourself a favor and abandon this ridiculous "pvp like a man" ideology please. Its a video game. And these types of builds are equally as encouraged as much as any.

You can make it work for sure. But will have to learn the truth that not all targets will be viable kill targets. Generally, if you build all in for ranged damage out of stealth you will have very little ability to escape if you are caught. Setting up your damage properly for bow gank builds does, despite what less intelligent players might try to say, take some experience. There is a build up for getting your burst ready. Experience in chosing the right targets, lining up your buff times and making sure you escape routes are in order is what will seperate you from a standard "bow/snipe tard".

Also worth mentioning, despite the fact that most players that approach this playstyle know full well that some ganks will fail and thus they will die, be mentally prepared to endure the hate msgs that come your way when a gank fails and said players feel like they have delivered to you some sort of comeuppance. Its funny really.
