which would be awesome and a warm welcome by me.

I miss Pvp in enemy cities like in warcraft. I miss going in a huge raid, trying to kill the king in Stormwind. Fun times even if we lost.

OP...you seem to have some kind of disdain for "casuals" lol.

A little history lesson: Back in the early days of mmo's, the grind was often detrimental to people's real lives. Relationships were literally ruined because the escape mmo's gave, was almost like a drug for some people and they became addicted.

Over the years, gamers and developers realized it was better for society as a whole, if gamers could get in, get some stuff done, and get back to their real lives.

In short: Balance is good. Many gamers are older, have children, bills, relationships, responsibilities, etc. "Casuals" aren't plagued individuals to be shunned and ridiculed...they're often people who have other real life responsibilities but also enjoy gaming.

Stop hating casuals lol...they're just regular people trying to balance their enjoyment of gaming, and their real life.

Spot on. I knew someone who fell prey to MMOitis in the original EQ. It was scary and sad. Lost his job, his wife, and had a real mess to sort out. Granted he was the extreme but still sad to see.

The point of an aging populace is really salient as well. Big difference between what needs to be tended as a teen/young adult and full adulthood. Drat it anyway.

I'm lucky, I've come full circle. I'm retired and can play as often/long as I like (and I do!) and my spouse is a gamer as well so there's no hard feelings about either of us diving into a game. Neither of us are TV watchers nor "going out" sorts so gaming is our main entertainment. But we know the pitfalls having been doing this MMO thing since UO (well even before that actually).

That's the ONLY kind of PvP or RvR that I like. No tea-baggers, no snotty brats waving their dangly bits about in celebration but rather a riotous bunch of people having at with gusto. It can be great fun provided the servers and our 'puters can process it all.

    I completely agree with @tizodd

While OP did ask a decent enough question, they proceeded by tossing shade at “causals” nearly every sentence.

Personally, I laugh at elitist on this game. I enjoy ESO as much as anyone but it is by far one of the easiest MMO on the market. So for people who strut around with this elite attitude like “I am a GAWD cuz I am good at ESO”, they look as stupid as the fat guy strutting around the gym in a cut off or muscle shirt. If you want to impress people with “i game achievements” ESO isn’t for you...considering most achievements are fishing and motif collecting.

Dunno 'bout the easiest. I think SWTOR is a lot easier but that might just be familiarity. That said, ESO isn't difficult and if I am saying that, it's proof it isn't because I am a pretty sucktacular player. :)

That said, if some folk need to boast about their status in a game, well...if it helps them get by, I don't have an issue with it. I don't want to be around it, mind you but it's easily avoided in the main.
