Damage Mitigation Question
I've been reading up on damage mitigation overall and wanted to understand further where it all came from and how it worked. I feel like this will be a thread that will warrant
@paulsimonps chiming in at some point lol.
I understand blocking mitigates 50% of the damage, and resistance accounts for approximately 15% each 10k resistance... So assuming you're blocking with resistances capped, you're at approximately 75% mitigation (I'm using this calc:
https://jscalc.io/calc/fiasVNPSGsOdmsF6)
So a 100k hit with resistance capped while blocking will only do 25k damage based on the above formula(if correct). I have a few questions based on the preceding information:
- How is Stamina consumption calculated for blocking?
- Is there a cap to damage mitigation?
- If there is no cap, what are additional ways to mitigate 100% of the damage? I assume there has to be some sort of cap otherwise everyone would be mitigating 100% of the damages...
- Is there anything else I'm missing when it comes to general damage mitigation and factors that impact it? I know there are formulas out there, but I've been unable to follow them precisely enough to understand what they are referencing. (Once math started using letters, I just gave it up altogether
).
