So i was PVPin 5min ago, and had Huge Ping and Lag issues. Sotha Sil EU PC
I crashed after we turned Glade red. So I decided to restart the Computer in hope of it to make the Laggs and Pingissues to go away.
After Closing ESO, i couldnt Shut down the PC (no idea why not actually), so i Shut it off by Forcing a shutdown... after restarting the PC everything works fine, No malware or similar software was detected by my scutiry software.
However now my ESO launcher only wants to install the game new.
Ive tried to copy my PTS game datas and then update those -> doesnt work
Ive tried to Copy old Live Datas aand then update those -> didnt work either

So now im Forced to completly reinstall the hole game cause it cannot handle a manual PC shutdown

Anyone has an idea how to fix it?
(Thats faster then redownload everything.)

If you are on STEAM, did the box that says you own the game get unchecked? For me its in the DLC section.

no im PC EU, but not the steam version. Seems somehow the Launcher cant find the gamedatas, neither can I, since the folder they're supposed to be is empty^^

Forcing Windows to reboot is not a nice thing to do to a running application, or even Windows itself. Windows has to clean up afterwards, and if you catch it at just the wrong moment, all manner of "exciting" things can happen.

In any case, ESO does not delete itself just due to a forced reboot. You should reinstall the game.

Your best bet is to make sure that all the data on the hard drive is OK (chkdsk /f), and make sure that all the critical Windows files are still there (sfc /scannow). If everything checks out, download the game and thank whatever Daedric Prince you pray to that it wasn't worse.

Use chkdsk to scan the disk (windows should have done that upon forced restart, but just in case), then enable display of hidden, and system files. Then search for directories called FOUND.000, FOUND.001, etc, on the same disk. All the contents should be in one of them.

Note though, that permissions will most likely be damaged, so you'll have to take ownership and set proper permissions, then copy the files.

Still, it's probably easier to just download it again (it's like 50gig, so an hour of downloading at 100mbps and nowadays most people got much more). Then you're sure nothing is damaged.
