Ok, so I've created a magblade with the sole purpose of attempting to finish vMA with him. So i am at lvl8 now, with a white fire staff and white-green gear of that level, I think my helm is lvl 1 or something.
I was exploring Auridon and came up to a world boss in the area (Soulfire Plateu). There's a cp 300 something stamina dps guy there so the 2 of us attacked the 3 necromancers.
Please keep in mind that the only worthwhile skills that I currently have are Killer's blade, Shallow Soul and Elemental Blockade and that's what I've used only.
Of course I am cp600 and have already distributed all cp points, the stamina dps transformed to a werewolf and we killed the 3 necros without any issues.
Is magblade's survability that awesome or it's because I am at cp600 already.

because you have cp already plus since one tamriel battle levelling means although you are only level 8 you are scaled up behind the scenes.

You will find that as you level up you feel steadily weaker until you hit level 50 when your gear cp160 gear will jump you back up.

At least that's been my experience of levelling toons since 1T

600 CP make a real difference and the self heal from Swallow Soul is nice to have. With Elemental Blockade and heavy lightning staff attacks you have very good AoE dps with inbuild magicka regeneration in the later case. In addition as a ranged DD many special attacks from caster style world bosses are much easier to avoid.

There are other world bosses who are pure melee or at least very melee based with heavy physical attacks, special attacks and CCs, those are often much tougher in my eyes.

if you wanne have a real test solo Aurig Mireh at the Shivering Shrine in Stonefalls. Register it as personal experience :-)

Sometimes the prey turns and nips us... it's a small thing.

So let the snow flakes and unicorns dance alone until they melt or vanish from existence, we will finish up with those smart enough to stay in the glowing circle of love.

Silmerel - CP 1k+ Breton Magicka Templar (Ebonheart Pact)
Sunja - CP 1k+ Dunmer Magicka Nightblade (Ebonheart Pact)
Suldreni - CP 1k+ Dunmer Magicka Dragonknight (Ebonheart Pact)
Sulhelka - CP 1k+ Altmer Magicka Sorcerer (Ebonheart Pact)

And if you don't enjoy having to gather your body parts, try the flesh golem in the NW corner of Grathwood. I use him to try new set ups.

Magblade is a very strong character for soloing IMO. They might not have the high DPS numbers of a stamblade, but they are much more survivable.

Im quite tanky when I am on my back bar in which I have mostly shadow skills. My front bar (being my main DPS bar) my health and armor rating are lower. If i find myself in a sticky situation, I just switch to my back bar and heal myself and then I am good to go.

I love my magblade, he is currently one of my fav characters (along with my stam warden) and so much fun to play. My aim with him is to do MA and potentially vMA. But first I want to get a good 5 peice sets that complement my build.

Also, I run 2 peice heavy armor (chest and boots) and rest is all light armor. I put all skill points into the first 3 heavy armor passives too (increasing armor rating, max health and health regen).

Dunmer Magicka DK - Dest/Resto staff

    Bosmer Stamina Warden - Bow/2H

I've killed those necromancers boss solo at lvl ~7-10 as soon as unlocked siphoning ult. Magblade is extremely strong at low levels due to his healing integrated into damage skills.

in terms of end game, yes magblades are very strong and they are range. they provide nice buffs for the group unlike a stamblade

Yes, mageblade is very strong. The fact that you have so much healing in your kit means you never have to go on the defense in pve.

Soulfire Plateau is one of the harder world bosses as well.

THE CAVELRY HAS ARRIVED! Cav is a professional magblade, (in his not so professional opinion). He is immortal and is fighting for the Pact since 2E 572, amidst the turmoil of the Second Akaviri Invasion. He protects the provinces of Skyrim, Morrowind and Black Marsh.

Check out his PVP YouTube channel !

At end game, mageblade is nuts in the right hands, and very mediocre in average hands. It is by far the most difficult class to play in Endgame PVE, magic or stam, but the risk is worth the reward if you can pull it off.

Out of the gate, funnel health/Swallow Soul is the single most powerful skill at low level. It is ranged damage, and provides a heal. You can literally beat the entire main quest with just that skill, and it's the first thing you unlock.

That's my concern also mate. Yesterday I was checking @Gilliamtherogue 's magblade build for CWC and man the rotation is not easy i can tell you that.
Anyway, I am gonna try it and see how it goes. Thank you all for your responses.

If you are talking end game DPS, then yes, mageblade has the most difficult rotation of any of the magic classes at the extreme end of things. There are simpler versions of the rotation the pull enough DPS for really any content, but you wont be turning heads or breaking records. I would highly suggest starting simple and then working up to the harder versions. They are incredibly good with resource management and self heals, so for places like VMA, they are one of the easier classes for sure.

What makes mageblade (and stamblade) so difficult is they way the Merciless Resolve/Relentless Focus functions. Basically you have 20 seconds to get in 10-15 light weaves. At 10 you can get 2 bow procs, and at 15, you can get 3. The best of the best mageblades consistantly get three, which requires a perfect weave and more bar swaps (bar swap cancelling is huge on nightblade) than any other class. You can pull pretty good damage on just about any other class with a mediocre light weave, but NBs live and die by it.

You can actually beat the entire main quest without any skills slotted at all, with zero CP and butt naked ;)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyIk1so-7Ck
