Divines, infused, sturdy, impenetrable, well fitted, training for armor, sharpened, nirnhoned, precise, infused, training, charged for weapons. The rest are less important.

? I thought they are only for heavy armor

Inpren is bis for PvP, divine is overall best, tanks, healers and some dd build uses infused on large. sturdy for small pieces on tank, perhaps all on some builds. You also might want powered on resto staff.
training is for training gear.
So it depend on your role,

All of them.

If you're talking about research, and you're a crafter, you may as well go all in and research everything. That way if there's a 9-trait set you want (Twice-Born Star, for example) or a new one is created down the road, you'll have nothing preventing you from making it.

If you're talking actual utilization, it's going to depend on your build goals. Review builds for info.

Especially those since if you play LA magicka in PvP you'll need that extra mitigation to critical damage and block cost reduction more than a heavy armor build. And yes, you can be pretty tanky in 5 light/medium if you have 1H+S on one of your bars. With some class/race combos you can also hit high resistance numbers. Ex. my Stamina DK has 18K physical resistance and 25K spell resistance in 1/5/1 full impenetrable with volatile armor on. Going 1/1/5 would only give me 6-8% extra mitigation.
