[Vid] Why People Use Miat's PvP Alerts

The purpose of the video is to demonstrate a scenario in which Miat's PvP Alerts would've been an incredibly powerful tool. In this instance I still managed to win the engagement, but that was against predominantly low CP players. Imagine these players with a little bit more skill and properly geared for PvP, I have no shame in admitting I would've dropped fast 2v4 against people from stealth. The problem arises when if I then had Miat's PvP Alerts installed, it has an incredibility high probability of changing the outcome of a fight against pure range builds (especially ones who's main spammable has a cast time), even when they engage from stealth. This is the problem. It also makes it easy to sympathise with Miat's PvP Alerts users when 95% of it's usefulness is against xv1 stealth snipers. This is also a problem.


Just to clarify a few points because some people seem confused:
• I am not using Miat's PvP Alerts in the video.
• The only time I've used Miat's PvP Alerts is testing with friends to see what alerts I have to get around when on my StamBlade.
• I am using Miat's CC Tracker (the thing that tells me stuff at the time of attack, not before).
• 5x sturdy in a no-CP campaign is not perma block, in a proper fight my stamina is gone in like 5seconds. Such a ridiculous assertion some people are making.
• Nightblades have Fear, there is no "perma-block" against a NB.
• Please watch the video before commenting (it's not monetised, don't worry you are not supporting me).
• I am against Miat's PvP Alerts, but I understand why people chose to use it.
• The "problem" I mentioned at the end of the video is, in my humble opinion, snipe from stealth on properly geared players being too strong AND Miat's PvP Alerts giving too much information about travel and cast time attacks. I have no solution. This was merely a demonstration.

I think the reason why people use the notifications part of the excellent addon is they’re fed up with stealth. But I’m not interested in another discussion @DDuke and his companions will turn into a essay contest again.

Hold block > Charge > Immobilize > Whip for dayz.

Y'know I'd Lethal Arrow you from long distance too. If I even PvPed anymore that is.

Why people use Miat's addon? Oh, that would be because they lack the necessary skills to see/hear incoming damage and react to it.

And cheating to bypass it is just wrong.

In light of recent events, I do believe MIAT should get the banhammer treatment.

Exploit of ZOS API information in order to gain advantage on other players is worst than exploiting ZOS loophole and gaining an achievement.

When it gets to a point you have to run it because 90% (speculation) of your enemy does then something is wrong.
The bow attacks are simply insane in this game but then so are a lot of things.

Anything glass cannon is under threat of being opened on first so if you play the I'm better than that game you can expect to lose most 1 v how ever many NB's are in the general area.

Did you see the amount of times Talons and Fossilize would miss even when I'm right on top of them? I do try, but the curses of playing with high ping

I do run a stamina nightblade, actually. It's my highest AR toon. Playing many different toons allows me to tell what parts of the game are over performing.

I think a lot of people know why people use it, the greater issue is the whole point of stealth is to be hidden and the add on sort of ruins that.

It just plays too much of the game for you, it would be better without it but as of now it's the meta.

OP replied to multiple quotes in one comment which is effort to fix my own comment on mobile so I've given up. Basically I don't agree that OP has some sort of superioir knowledge or opinion just because he has played multiple classes.

Also I watched the video and just saw a bunch of really bad players getting packed up by a DK and his friend. Am i missing something here???

Have you never had four NB's just spamming poison injection at you while you try to deal with the first guy that didn't quite one shot (edit : lmao) you?

it plays very less of the game for you than most people think, perhaps I am ignorant. I run with and without it and unless I'm missing a lot its not a fail safe. oh and Detection pots.

Merely saying I've experienced both sides of what is displayed in the video and that in my humble experience Snipe from stealth over performs.

actually seein ppl using MIAT's is kinda funny, dodgerolling before a kritrush out of stealh even hit them is funny, espacially when im on my tank and they wana fight me after dodging and hit onto a wall

just shows that some ppl have like 0 skill in pvp, and try to compensate with MIAT's^^

the discussion if it's use, or even the addon should be banned has gone on for quite a while now, and since IDC about the addon its a discussion without me.

Ban Miat, declare his mod an exploit, ban any idiot caught using it in the future. Simple problems require simple solutions.

At the moment miats is the only thing to notify you of attacks as when there is a battle of 10 or more players the sounds goes out so sniping you can no longer hear it incoming lol

well thats already ingame, with the "magic block sign" in fornt of the shield, just open your eyes. If you dont see when its not up then you deserve not to land important dmg in this window.
