Where to put champion points next?

I’m a Magicka dk dark elf and this is for pve. I have 49 points in hardy and 49 in elemental defender for 11% damage mitigation on both. It takes like 8 points just to go up by 1% now. Should I keep putting points into those or next put points into thick skinned, ironclad or spell shield?

Iron clad says reduces your damage taken against direct attacks, what counts as direct attacks?

Depends on the type of content you are doing. Reducing DOT helps as there's alot of it about. Direct damage is non AOE/ground etc.

I'd do those first before spell shield (I only use that yo burn up remaining CP after a jump point

I went with ironclad.. but perhaps I should of gone with thick skinned because as a DPS you are more likely to be hit with AoEs than a direct hit.
