I get the racial items as head shape and horns and that sort of thing create design issues, but nothing in the game should be gender locked as CyrusArya mentioned it would be nice if the character creator system didn't have gender as an option, just body sliders so you could craft what you wanted without a box of presets.

Consult this proposal with technical support and i sent it as a suggestion too.This was my message;
Package of female accessories and cosmetics, I'm a transexual guy who likes to dress and wear femenine clothes and cosmetics, so my character is a true reflection of that personality, but I'm limited when I try to use jewelry, eyelashes and some cosmetics that are only for the female gender. It should be possible for people who buy these cosmetic packages to have the freedom to use them freely, whatever your sexual and gender identity.
but this not only applies to cosmetics classified by genres, but it could also be applied to racial cosmetics!
surely there is someone who has thought about it at some time, the packs of cosmetics, tattoos, piercing, hairstyles and more, enable the ability to edit your character with some limitations, as if we went to the hairdresser, or tattoo our body, or change of piercing, ETC.
An example for me is that there is a male khajiit piercing on the nose that I would have liked to put on my argonian, using the packs to unlock those customization options would give more freedom and variety to the game.
And I wanted to propose my proposal here so that the community can give their opinion, if your like my idea, it is possible that the development team will focus on us to make our characters something unique and different.

My elf boy bids you welcome to the internet!I thought this was going to be about actual more character customization options that are not locked behind paywalls, not.... Crossdressing.

-The bodypaint pack, face paint pack and cosmetics pack from the crown store allow you to use them on every character, regardless of their race (with exception of khajiit and argonians, for technical reasons).
-Newer makeup and hairstyles can be worn by both sexes.
-All clothing can be worn by either sex.
-ZoS won't modify old cosmetic stuff, unless they release them as a "completely new" item in the crown store. If they're going to pay someone to modify what's already there, that isn't crucial to the game, they'll be better get some revenue from it.
Just wait, you'll have a wider collection of items that catter to your needs.
Now, on the risk of having my response deleted (because "heaven forbid" you dare to engage on this kind of topics in other way that praising or agreeing):Apache_Kid wrote: »I would still like gender as an option so I didn't have to try and create a female or male character from scratch. In ESO, characters are created in base of biological sex: male and female. Since sex and gender are different things (as some claim), you can perfectly define the latter via roleplaying and cosmetic stuff, because no one (with exception of some other roleplayers and friends) is going to care if your character identifies as an agender, cisgender, genderfluid.

I too would like skin and marking packs for Khajiits and Argonians, too. It'd be fun to have more marking and color choices.

I just wanted fluffier tails for my cats. Theyre too thin and dainty for my liking.

This is a fantasy game, you don't need to adhere to those inaccurate and binary concepts, hermaphroditic offspring is just one example of a broad range of genetic abnormalities in reproductive organs that you can look into yourself. I think Apache_Kid is right, that there should be a simple check box for male and female, but it wouldn't preclude having a slider that morphs between the two body builds so you could pick a bone structure in the middle somewhere allowing a more feminine and curvy male or a more masculine and svelte male.

You do have the freedom to use them freely,
(largely) unimpeded by your sexual and gender identity
aside from your assertion that a specific character model needs to be modifiable in potentially unavailable formsFutura_Aeterna wrote: »...

Would like to be able to use Wood Elf/Orc labret piercings on Breton characters
have not picked up the adornment pack due to concerns it will still be unavailable as it is at character creationn
my presupposition is that since the head models used are different, the labret piercings were never tested or adapted for Breton face morphs
so rather than have to alter them in accordance with race, or risk having weird issues like piercings showing up in the center of a mouth
they just locked them out
the issue would likely be more pronounced between male and female characters
and untenable in a swap from Khajiit or Argonian to a different race
If ZOS can alter the coding in a simple manner so that the original cosmetic items work across all races and genders, then fully approve of your idea
if it is going to stray into the direction of them doing remodeling work on all the piercings and stuff to adjust for races
would rather see that artist work time go into producing new cosmetic items and piercing options that are not race or gender limited from the start
Agree with the core concept of your proposal in terms of expanding customization moving forward
potentially going further and requesting that we additionally be able to employ multiple piercings and/or makeup items simultaneously (a nose/labret piercing combo for females, for example)
but disagree with spending more time going back and touching up several year-old items (pending further information that the morphs are already available as assets and are *only* code-locked at present)
Y'know...
I just want more jewellery options for males.
Earrings, eyebrow studs, lip piercings, etc.
It's completely lame that males have extremely limited options for jewellery.
Yeah people around here are generally all for more customization options. I'm still waiting to be able to use those cute flowers that female characters can put in their hair. >.<
