I just wish they did it for the survey exploit years back. That ruined the economy for awhile, unlike this which impacted everyone else minimally.

of course it should not be for "first time doing it", but if someone repeatedly does it, first warning, second warning - ban for a week, third warning permaban is pretty ok imho.

If ZOS would do it this strict, we would see no exploiters in few monts

I knew there would be some who would do that, I considered putting No first then Yes in the poll, but I didn’t want to appear to be trying to skew numbers by putting my preference on top, so I put the answers in the same order as in the question.

If it's a major glitch that you know your exploiting even the first time is considered enough grounds to get perm banned, of course anyone in there right mind would know that something is up if an actual raid boss isn't attacking you and you can hurt it.

you have to have standards, no grey areas. This recent banning should now be giving a strong message to all that a zero tolerance policy is in place. Forget what has happened before with other exploits and use this as the way forward and the defacto way to deal with cheats.

They knew what they were doing was wrong. They are only sorry because they got caught. They were counting on ZOS being soft on them because of the punishment past exploiters got.

Myself, and the vast majority of the playerbase wanted harsher punishment for those previous exploits.

I am glad that ZOS has set a new precident for people who knowingly exploit a bug.

Those guys and girls that were banned cheated their way to the top. Meanwhile other guilds will be learning mechanics and spending many hours in Asylum earning their skin. So yeah, they got what they deserved

I heard about this altho don't know what platform it was on. I do think it was too harsh, if the devs leave a loophole like that in the game, someone is gonna find it, and it doesn't even sound like it was very hard to discover. Perma ban is ridiculous, they should just fix the quest and have a word with the playtesters for not finding this before it went live.

To be totally honest; even worse was that they were trying to sell runs, when people have been doing that legit for vmol (and way in the past even VDSA!), so the type of person who would pay for that kind of run wouldn’t have any framework for knowing any better. Whilst it’s true that ignorance is no legit defence, people who never ran raids really would have no way of knowing. THAT was every bit as bad -and imo actually worse to try and take advantage of other people!- as rinsing for skins and achievements that are very hard won (see the trials and dungeons forum!!).

Jacked up - no 2 ways about it.

Nope. Got what they deserved. Just because ZoS has taken a weak stance before against cheating doesn't mean they should be weak now. A line needed to be drawn. And they chose this instance to draw it. Better to draw one now than to not do it at all. I'm proud they had to courage to do it.
