make alliance rank account wide, then seperate pvp based on rank?

for instance

have a noob pvp server that's AR 0-10

then a mid range server of AR 11-25

then a pro server of AR 26-50

CP and no CP does not work (as anyone can still play either), neither does sub any kind of sub 50 server (as vets can re roll characters like everyone else) and I personally know pvp players that have gold level 10 gear and simply stomp new players till they get a little over leveled then re roll and do it again.

now I know alliance rank is not so much indicative of skill as it is play time, but I think we can all agree (aside from some devils advocates here) that an alliance rank 50 grand overlord PROBOBLY has more pvp skill then some alliance rank 1 person that just stepped into pvp, maybe, possibly.

I think we can agree on the premise that the more you play something the better you tend to get.

so make alliance ranks account wide, or failing that an account wide rank separate from individual characters but cumulative based on every characters AP (so if your not a GO, but across all your characters you would be because you have enough AP its just spread out, your global AR would reflect this) then split some servers so we have legitimate servers for people of various skill levels (skill levels being reflected by total play time in pvp as we have established)

discuss

EDIT: also, if you party up, it would drop you in the server of the highest AR player, to avoid cheesy exploits of pro players that just want to stomp noobs.

How would you find people to fight with only a third of the PvP playerbase on your campaign?

This would be awful. 2 CP level characters are not the same necessarily.

For example, assuming AP rank equals player skill:

I have a maxed out MagDK for PVP. all skills and passives are unlocked.

I also have a CP level Mag nightblade. But that character is missing passives and skills because they are not leveled yet.

One character would be fine in an upper tier PVP server. The other would be awful.

But AP rank, just like CP, really doesn't indicate skill level.

the example you list happens already so whatever. but ill bite, if you have been PVP'ing long enough to be alliance rank 34, then roll a new character and decide your going to roll into pvp without gear and no skill points? then you accept the consequences of your obviously ridiculous actions.

and AR is not a perfect representation of skill, but its the closest thing we have in game.

the majority of my friends LOVE eso pvp but don't play because they don't have fun getting stomped by those that live there 24/7 so they don't pvp.

they loved this idea and urged me to post it or send it to ZOS

and I know I'm going to get high skill players in here saying its terrible because they don't want their fodder to leave.

People who apply real life lessons to the game often get bombed here in the forums but I am going to do it anyway.

I've had coaches in a variety of sports at some point and time tell me the best way to get better at something is to compete against or train with people that are better than you. If you surround yourself with people that are at your level then you will stay at that level.
Also had a roommate that was a ski instructor. He said basically the same thing. If you want to ski better then ski with people that are better than you. That bit of advice had me walking back up the mountain through a mogul hill looking for goggles, hat, one glove and my skis but eventually I figured it out.

    How that applies here...

The best way to improve in PvP is go in and start getting stomped. Figure out how they are stomping you and what you need to do to prevent it. Find people in your alliance that are thumping others and pump them for advice.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Psst, Wrobel is the combat dev, not pvp.

Separating people by Rank won't level the playing field. People new to ESO, but who put in effort to learn about ESO AvA mechanics and recommended gear and skills, will still stomp people who roll in wearing their "play as you want" pve gear, thinking they can use the same rotation in pvp they use against Delve bosses.

If you want to learn to pvp in ESO, talk to or play with people who are good at pvp in ESO.

The best part would be all the posts about how "that build might work in AR 11-25 play, but in the AR26+ meta it's trash."
