Witches festival, a huge disappointment.

I’m sorry, but this years event is a joke.
90% of the plunderskulls I open have a tree branch and spider eggs in, the masks are just a recolor of last years masks, and there seems to be only 2 furniture diagrams, one of which is literally just the woodelf cauldron, stone under a different name.

its disappointing when compared to other mmo holidays. not even new achievements and towns are not even decorated. I want a hallowjack spectre wb to spawn in starting areas that drops spooky items, and towns to have pumpkins etc. I want a earnable mount and pet ingame for this holiday not reskins.

1. that's good,
2. reskins not really that interesting. earnable reskinned mounts or pets would be amazing to pursue though
3. all events have that in this game, and the buff doesn't polymorph you so its optional.
4. I just want some more things that say, oh its witches festival! decorated towns would help get me in the mood for witches festival.

Maybe RNG just sucks for you OP, myself, I have numerous purple housing thingies/recipes gold recipes etc.

Still a few days left, maybe RNG will favour you, or not...

The only thing that disappointed me was that the festival brought out more casuals (many being terrible players) that made me trying to farm some vet dungeons basically impossible sometimes. Some level 20's quing for vets with 10k health being one shot all over the place. Some high cp's with no clue what gear or a build is. Wiping on bosses that don't have the most complex mechanics, such as just breaking free on the Direfrost run.

That was my disappointment.

2 of which havnt been seen, and 1 is already an in game item. So 1 recipe added...

4 masks that are recolors of eachother, so no masks.

Double xp... I have 843 cp. Big whoop.

As for what I want from it, how about them not copy pasting "new" content into the game and actually giving a [Snip].

I just wanted to be done with it. I wanted not to feel like I must grind the boxes this year, just finish achievements on my wardens and be done. But they went and added new stuff, so there is a need in my mind to grind. Plus it feels like we kind of got the raw end with only have 3 days of it before a new dlc. And 2 of the new furniture recipes seemingly not dropping is going to ensure I have to keep grinding the full time "just in case."

I also wanted the exp buff to work... It works on my main account just fine, but I don't need exp there. My second account it is not working, at least not on the character I tried(and yes I know how to properly apply the buff).

I'm glad the towns aren't decorated, it seemed realy REALLY tacky when Orgrimarr had a buncha christmas lights all over.

That said I do wish MMOs borrowed from LOTRO's seasonal events, THOSE where amazing

I agree with the decorations. It's very tacky to push our worlds decorating styles into a setting it doesn't suit just to make us feel like it's more festive.

I'm liking it. I like the choice to use a polymorph or not. I like this particular polymorph.

I like that people come back to the game

I like that prices of items get decreased and the in-game economy gets a little deflated. I barely could afford anything.

I like that we can use some of what we did last year to earn this year's house.

I like that there has been some fun and helpful chat in zone to help newbies

I was very "Un-Hyped" for this festival after reading the release details. I have voiced that in this thread...

But now that it is live, and saw the Housing Items are not new, they are available thru achievement vendors or the same as other items, ( Cauldron is literally a copy paste of the wood elf cauldron, exact same, just different name),
2 new masks are just the same as last years masks except colors added and they glow, furnishing designs that are blah, plus I have lost my excitement for those due to the fact I can't add anything new to our guild hall, (RAISE HOUSING CAPS PLEASE!).
Happy for those who weren't here/ didn't finish the festival last year, but those of us who were, this is a disappointment.

The salt is real, I am sure ZoS will cater new stuff specifically for you from now on though, and it is a festival, same as last year...

I still wish they had given us an emote or a collectible that, when activated, would scare skeletons to run away and make a 'game' out of it .... like successfully pelting them from behind with a broomstick (while they are scared) would cause the skelly to drop a loot sack that had in it what we typically find in loot sacks, but also with the RNG chance of getting, for example, 50 gold pieces (everyone likes gold). Obviously, this suggestion would only apply to skeletons found topside, not the ones in underground areas.

I'm glad that they made plunder skulls available for doing things we would probably do anyway (killing bosses), but it would have been nice if they also included a humorous 'mini game' of sorts as well.

Yeah agree with you on that. Decor would be nice, to give it that Halloween feel.

Bad thing about this event is it seem to bring out all the bad part of grinding vs a CP 300+ player.
You want to get a plunder skull w/ your newbie character? Well good luck.
Seen high lvl CPs train whole delve to boss/ kill boss and log. and if your the newb character... well ya wait for respawn and hope a high lvl PC is not there to /kill steal the boss.

The only issue I'm having with this event is I can't solo WBs with 14k HP anymore due to lag. I have to n00b it up and wear 20k HP. Other than that, I like the event.

The main point of the Witches Festival is the 2X EXP. All the rest is dressing and flavor.

Yes, the goodies are hidden in an RNG sea of normal stuff. Otherwise, people would have no shinys after the first day. But, they are still not the point of the event.

Would I like to see more, sure, but give me new events instead to add to what we have.

I think they need to to tone down the DMG and AC of high lvl players in low lvl zones, come on; 1 hit kills on delve bosses is just OK? A CP 600+ player can ruin your day and just not care... cause I'm farming.

Considering we're getting a huge update/DLC tomorrow, I'm not surprised that they didn't have overly much time to make new stuff for this festival. Also I'm not really missing it, since I'm not a huge fan of Halloween and related festivities. I much rather hope for nice new stuff for the New Life Festival!

Also it gives me the opportunity to get those plunder skull achievements I missed last year, so there's that.

I disagree, witches festival is a time to show off the spookiness of tamriel, many of us can not even use the double xp. all the pve events have double xp and I don't see witches, new life as simply double xp events... but as a somewhat close equivalent to real world holidays and id like tamriel to get more into the seasonal spirits
