Reviving the Frost Destruction Staff - would you like it to be used for DPS instead of Tanking?

    It was ugly and dissapointed decision to make dps staff tanky

    People around here just seem to be allergic to change. Frost tanking works really well actually, I convinced some of my friends it is viable now and they hae tanked vet trials as a frost tank no issues. It is far more versatile than Snore and Board.

    So are you. You are unhappy with the way it is right now, so YOU want it changed. We however are satisfied with the way it is right now, and do not want something changed that would completely ruin our entire build in its entirety.

    I wish all the destruction types were de facto dps and Inner Fire were instead the first Undaunted. 1h+S needs Puncture, so staff should need some analogous skill like Inner Fire. That way the elemental types can all have their preferred mode of operation and people can pick one based on what aesthetic or secondary function they like best and tanks will be tanks and dps will be dps independently of that choice.

    I don't mind it if the Frost Staff is made to be a tankier Destruction Staff, but not the way it's currently implemented.

    - If ZOS wants it to become a true tank weapon, it needs to become its own weapon skill tree, seperated from Flame and Lightning Staves.
    - If ZOS wants it to stay an offensive weapon, but with extra tankiness, they need to change the Ancient Knowledge passive to grant Frost Staff wielders a damage reduction as well as rework the Tri Focus passive. The obvious change being the removal of the taunt from Heavy Attacks and moving the block cost reduction from Ancient Knowledge to this passive to replace the weak little damage shield

    Ice staff works good on ranged bosses with tremor scale since you get magicka, % chance to do 6000 aoe damage, and a taunt all in one. I prefer S&B/healing staff since it gives back more magicka per heavy attack. The ice staff is usually too slow to control spawned adds or a pull. I'd rather have the extra magicka from the healing staff and use puncture to taunt and when needed use inner fire.

    My thinking has always been, "why is this even a thing". What made them decide to even do that.

    I want to be able to use ice staffs as I viable option for dps builds. Atm they're useless. For dps to work you can't have points in tri because of the agro passive. Now right there is the issue, lightening staff does damage. Flame staff does damage. Ice staff takes agro. It's stupid. I should be able to have points in to tri and have a choice of the 3 staves to use to dps.

    Frost magic in ESO is borderline useless atm


    The tanking option is terrible.

    A simple good change would be to allow magicka to regen while you block and to have a frost wall emote when you block.

    They dont seem to care atm though

    I like it as a Magicka Tanking option, it gives variety to the Staves and different magic styles. Ice would be almost unfair as a DPS option because it's primary function is Slowing and Freezing, Crowd Control effects that make tanking more viable and hold true to the element... I like the idea of there being a Healing Magic Restoration, Destruction magic Fire/Lightning and a defensive magic Ice for each role.It could still use a few tweeks though as someone mentioned already, the taunt is too slow and can easily be interrupted. Use Fire or lightning if you want to be a Magicka Staff DPS...

    Okay, I commented before reading all the comments and confused by how often people complain about "NOT ENOUGH TANKS" and "FAKE TANKs" and whatever so why are you trying to take away one of the Few taunts in game!?! There is literally like 4 with the SnS and Undaunted Magicka taunt or if you want to commit to the Tormented Heavy Set, but... IDK

    Id rather they stay a tanking option but needs to be severely reworked to be functional

    its clench needs to be a taunt vs heavy attack way to slow

    Its block cost needs to be further reduced since were blocking and casting off of one pool unlike sword and board tanks who block with stam and sustain on magic

    Its defensive buffs need to be buffed up to compensate lack of shield.

    Its skills need to be reworked like have the elemental ring be an aoe taunt that alone would have a massive stand out.

    I want an ice staff tank but as it sits now its better as a dps staff so zos eother fox it or revert it
    I'm everything that doesn't belong in the pact but i'm there anyway...

    Taunting with a heavy attack sucks, I'd rather just have ice staff be defensive and use Inner Rage as a taunt instead.
