I'm glad I did the Witch's Festival this year. I can warn people against trying to do it in one sitting. Or I can warn them away from participating at all. Honestly not sure it was worth the effort.
Spent every free minute I had yesterday grinding 100 of those stupid boxes just so I could unlock the ability to buy a small home for 250k.
And yes, you need to buy the Exorcised Cottage.
Not because it's really nice.
Not because it's really cool.
Not because the aesthetics are appealing.
Nope. You need another house to have somewhere to stash all the +30 charred sticks and branches you're going to find inside those 100 stupid boxes.
Best part about those stupid boxes? You might get a useful recipe or two or a Halloween mask.
Worst part about those stupid boxes? Some sort of unknowable cool-down! Yeppers... That was just sadistic. Apparently a certain number of minutes NEED to pass before you can go kill another delve boss, world boss, dolmen boss, or dungeon boss that will drop the stupid box. So if you're like me and you think you'll knock this out in one evening doing pledges, then bless your sweet heart, because you're very VERY wrong.
Devil's advocate, let's assume the cool-down is five minutes, meaning that you must wait 300 seconds between boss fights. So you are only able of earning 12 of these stupid boxes per hour. Which means you WILL be grinding somewhere between eight and TEN hours just to unlock the ability to pay 250k gold for a crappy house, +30 sticks, and maybe a few useful recipes (plus a hat if you get very lucky).
Somewhere in the bowels of ZoS HQ is the sadist who considered what a time-suck the Witches Festival is, and this person, no doubt, still thinks they did a good job. Spend almost ten hours doing the SAME content we've been doing for three years? Oh yes, that was an inspired idea if your goal was to make people sick of this game.2
