Decision between what Im wearing now, and Netch's Touch

Since ZOS still wont count a 2 handed weapon as two pieces of a set Staff uses are swindled out of a slot, so, would it be better for me to Place a 5pc Netch's on my MagSorc while sacraficing the 2pc Bonus of a Monster Set.

What I'm wearing now.
5pc Julianos +1 for filler
3pc Willpower
2pc Monster

What the change would be.
5pc Julianos
5pc Netch's
1pc whatever

What monster set bonus will you be losing? Are you talking about dropping willpower?
What content is it for? What play style are you aiming at?

If the question is 'is it viable to run 2 5-pieces and only one monster? The answer is yes (at least for PvP and most pve, can't speak for trials).

But all builds have an element of personal preference, so its always gonna boil down to trying it and deciding yourself.

Replace that willpower and monster and that random filler and netch juli and a monster poece for crit.

You cant craft Juli jewelry so yes id be losing Willpower and a second monster set piece, which i kinda switch out between Infernal Guardian, Illambris, Grothdarr etc, for a full set of Netch's. Question is, is the 300 some extra damage to shock attacks a better option than the current build? I could combine it with Iceheart for extra crit or Kena for moar Spell damage.

My current build is 5 netch, 3 willpower, 2 ilambris. It hits pretty hard, but you have to slot a lot of lightning damage and run dual lightning staves. As soon as I get the jewelry, I will be replacing willpower with either Infallible Mage or Moondancer. To be honest though, this set-up works best as a heavy attack build. I have zero recovery glyphs and all spell damage. Nearly 3K spell damage and 40K magicka but my recovery is at 700.

5-4-2 is not a bad set up with the right sets. WMK and Overwhelming Surge can give you 258 spell dmg on 4 pieces, while Mother's sorrow or Treasure hunter increase you spell crit in 1666. Sure, Julianos gives you both bonus but it doesn't allow you to wear jewelry.

Try those set ups. WMK is a set quite easy to get, same as Mother's sorrow, then you can choose what do you prefer if more spell dmg (that implies more penetration) or spell crit (which requires more crit dmg).

my mag sorc is using 5 julianos, 5 netch and 1 illambris for magicka, been thinking of swapping out for iceheart to get the crit, and he's doing fine with that setup

I'm running 5 pcs Julianos, 5 pcs Netch and 1 pc Iceheart on my magicka sorc and it's working well for me.

My suggestion...
1st Set: Nothing
2nd Set: Nothing

Just the way I like it.

Would say more if you had more info...
What you have could be fine, don't sacrifice a 2nd monster set bonus, just get 5 pieces alternating between bars, have the backbar 5th bonus be a proc with persistence on swap.
