Can you retrait something with no trait

So, in full disclosure, I messed up. I crafted an Inferno Julianos staff, made it gold, enchanted with a gold glyph and it just doesn't look right when I look at. Turns out that I forgot to make it Infused and it has no trait on it at all. I went to deconstruct it and cry myself to sleep, but then I wondered if I can retrait it if it has NO trait on it already. Anyone on PTS now.

No. That would be called "applying a trait" . How can you re-apply something that was never there to begin with? lol

Too much work, though. You're better off just recrafting. Re-trait is for dropped items, so you don't have to keep farming.

The effort to acquire the retrait widgets FAR outweighs the ability to get 8 rosin and some assorted cheap mats to make a new one.
