And people were dogging class change token forums, and we got people buying high-level accounts from bots isn't this some policy just like buying gold against the rules as long as you have proof?

I mean, unless they straight up tell you they've purchased their account, there's no way of knowing.

Also, you guys are making me feel extremely self-conscious. :P More than half the mistakes and silly things mentioned in this thread are things I'd probably do - or have done - at some point in the game. I'm CP400 and have only ever run a normal dungeon ONCE, with a friend. Only did two normal trials up until this point and that was with a very understanding and patient group of guildies. I'm a PvE quester at heart, enjoying the overland content mostly, and so if I ever were to gather up the courage and walk into a dungeon with a group I don't know, I'd probably make a fool of myself. And in all honesty, it's threads like these that make me want to try out this type of content even less.

Just because someone does not seem to understand the mechanics of whatever it is you're currently running as a group (or does not know their gear/skill set-up is generally thought of as sub-par, for that matter), doesn't mean the player has not gotten to where they are currently by themselves. Instead of kicking, trolling or calling out names, they'd probably be better helped if someone were to try and teach / inform them on what it is that's expected of them.

It's not understanding mechanics it's when they don't understand basic gameplay that we all learn. I helped hundreds of players at this point, but these people I meet acted differently from people who don't understand mechanics of dungeon versus how to move your character.

It took this guy Five minutes to find shield and board skill line. Mind you he was wearing a shield and board. So yes this is odd.

The other guy delcared himself a new player at CP 660. The one using healing orbs.

I always explain mechanics to players. Usually the one with an plan when we are struggling. I bring food and make gear for some of these people afterwards. But on other hand I should not having to show people things what tutorial taught us. Yes though feeble and easily forgotten there's something things every play does know if they started their account.

But what am suggesting is there been increase of such people at veteran level content. They don't know gameplay nor mechanics. The bots seem to be getting a bit more creative like recent sighting of them selling gold in zone. I am bringing to attention that something more might be going on too.

Not yet. But I did meet player I suspect is sharing his account with someone. I mean, you run into a guy in Cyrodiil and he kills you like a pro, and then next day you kill him 1v1 like he just started to play PvP 2 days ago. Happened several times.

i'm getting close to 600 myself now, and don't feel at all like an uber vet playing this game. I have plenty to experience and learn yet. I'm not saying it's easy to level CP but that's what I've done, by using all of my characters and working all of them through the alliance story lines, MQ, and a lot of crafting. I'm not interested in any opinions on whether this is a good/bad way to play, or a smart/stupid way to play. It's MY way of playing. Now by doing this, I've leveled my CP well beyond my (player, not pc) expertise in playing the game, but at the same time, having the additional CP available to use while working through the alliance story lines & MQ has made the game more interesting and enjoyable, and less frustrating that it was when I started to play.

So, I'm not at all surprised at players with high CP who are obviously less experienced than others with the same CP.

    Just my 2 cents...

You both realise this is an MMO, right? Buying your account, not knowing anything and jumping into group content literally affects at least 3 other players.

Can only happen in a PUG. If you have expectations, don't PUG.
And people playing badly in PUGS happens all the time, even when people use an account they have levelled themselves.
Sorry but I don't see this argument as valid, and I still don't see where the problem is with people who buy accounts levelled by others. After all, they're paying MORE for playing LESS (most quests not being repeatable, etc). It makes no sense why anyone would do that, but if some do, well, that's not really affecting anyone. Sure you can stumble upon one of those in a PUG. But people in guilds will not be fooled very long anyway. And people can learn to play.

I almost exclusively tanked for my 1st year in game. I was well past CP cap when I started playing healer and DD. It's only 2 months or so since I started taking that role seriously. So if someone ran with me as DD a year ago he would have been surprised seeing so low DPS.

I don't believe this is rampant. Has it happened before, sure. But much less frequently than people imagine. I think some people are really that bad. There was a 660cp sorc in my casual guild that did nothing but hardcast crystal frags. I've run across multiple max level "healers" that thought they were a healer because they put breath of life on their bar.

Saw a CP660 running around Craglorn, with Monster Hunter title, barely able to kill a single lamia. Barely = LA only, no skills, no blocking, just stands there. So they managed to kill tens of thousands of all kinds of monsters but died to each one multiple times? Yeah, don't think so.

As crappy as I am, I'm sure people have thought it about me - and I have been here since the beginning....

Seriously though there are some people (myself included) that feel that as long as the game is fun and moderately challenging, there is no real reason to push to get any better at it. For instance, I absolutely refuse to watch videos and study boss mechanics for hours to complete content. If I can't figure it out on my own, then it doesn't get done.

I didn't enjoy studying in school, and I damn sure don't enjoy doing it for a leisure activity.

Of course there's people who bought their accounts (secondhand market and all), but there are also probably people who share accounts with family or friends. I think that is a more likely explanation for utter newb behavior at the high levels.

As odd as this may sound, selling accounts may be beneficial to ZOS in the end.
Players that lost interest aren't generating money for ZOS, and someone who bought a leveled account is probably willing to spend more. The person that buys an account may never had played if they would have started from scratch 3 years into a game.

Well, Bethesda and ZOS for one. This is still a BUY to Play game, which implies that Bethesda and ZOS should get paid for it by the person who is using it.

I'm sure there are people who pick decide to go for healing or Tanking after DPSing all game even in the high CP levels I remember in WOW I was incredibly nervous tanking since I thought you had to be a twink or really good tank to start with to do it so never attempted till max level and hitting a high ilvl.
I dont know how trials work since I have never done one and tbh dont plan on doing one ever, but I never touched a Veteran dungeon till over 160cp since people told me they were incredibly hard and you shouldnt even attempt them till max gear level since it was an unspoken rule you NEED at least 15k DPS or you'll get kicked.
There are also people who quit and haven't played in months who have lost the coordination or can't remember rotations etc.

But there are people selling accounts so it's very possible. For the price I guess it could be worth it, $150 have several good CP characters, gold, good gear, etc that comes with it. Personally i'm a do it yourself person and take pride in my character I made and the account I played during closed and open beta but some people want to skip the grind and get straight in and claim others glory as their own whatever, i'm no judge of them.
