Most people aren't that shallow. I got this elk because I didn't buy the first one and really wanted it. I don't give a rat's rear end how *rare* it becomes, or doesn't. I wish it had been 1,000 crowns so that everybody and their grandmothers would get it. I don't buy mounts to be *special*. Only ridiculous people think that way. I've noticed that YOU think that way, though. LOL.
It'll probably end up in a crown crate in a year, then everyone will have it, like what happened with the Dromanthra senche.

I like expensive limited time offers. The item is usually not very good looking or has some obnoxious animation or effect and so I don't see them in the game because few people buy them. If they had priced Evil Rudolph at 1000 Crowns or 1500 Crowns, they would be everywhere in the game.

Yes, they have been doing that for special events for a little while. It only comes up once per browser.

1000 x $40 (overpriced mount) = $40,000
100,000 x $10 (reasonably priced mount) = $1,000,000

YOU explain why they are greedy to want $40,000 over $1,000,000

Come on @Medakon explain how wanting $40,000 instead of $1,000,000 is greedy. Go into as much detail as you can. We'll wait for this one.

I personally don't get excited about the mounts that we can buy in the crown store. Really, what should I be thinking ? "ooo-h wow! a new color guar!" or "I'm so going to buy the horse that looks like a noob horse!" Seriously, the mounts that are being released in the crown store are just plain and noobish compared to what has been released in the scam boxes.

I currently have 13 mounts, if they want my attention/money they will need to create something new and exciting to look at before I buy another.
