Question about dropped gear (normal/blue vs vet/purple)

I know in terms of drops normal trials drop blue gear while veteran trials drop purple gear; however, if I improve a blue piece to epic, is it the same as a dropped epic gear with the same traits?

Did a normal SO run and got Twin-Fanged boots with Divines...just wondering if I improved them to epic would they be the same as the twin-Fanged boots with Divines if they dropped in vet mode?

Yes doesen't matter for gear that can be upgraded. Jewelry is the "only" reason for doing vet since it can't be improved (yet).

Yes...exactly the same...that's why gear farm is done on normal and jewelry farm on vet...
