So what's the deal with this game's que system?

I spend hours trying to que often. like today I have had one dungeon in 5 hours.

1. I noticed if it goes past 30 minutes it pretty much never happens? I have learned over the months to quit as soon as it hits 30's or you'll end up staring at 50 minutes+ and nothing ever happening. Does it remove you from que somehow? I am pretty convinced it does. I have never had a que work past 50 minutes no matter how long you let it go. I often have the que work within a minute or two after resetting. Way too many times to be a coincidence...

2. Does it remove you from que when switching zones? The que often disappears for un explainable reasons. I have quit traveling anywhere as a result and get pretty bored just sitting in spot waiting for a dungeon that only requires 4 people?

Not exactly an answer to your specific questions, because I don't really know how it all works under the hood. Try being a Tank or Healer. My Healer has never waited longer than three minutes for a dungeon. My Tank has never waited longer than 60 seconds. If you are DPS, they are a dime a'dozen. DPS ques can be very lengthy.

Imo the population is quite low, and most players of eso just like playing solo or run with guildies/friends, or the group finder is just bugged, i have been playing wow recently qued as dd many times for normal/heroic dungeons and raids and mostly i am in a group in less than 10min.

I get in as a DPS usually in under 10 Minutes, as a Tank, in less than 30 seconds, and as a healer, less then a minute. The group finder forms groups, if your able to do a Role that the GF needs. It has more DPS than it knows what to do with.

I myself never wait more than 15 minutes for a DPS Que, I leave. But, more often than not, I get in as a DPS, eventually.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    "Que"...Spanish for "What"

which just about sums up this post

    presumably you mean "Queue"
