What is harder? 3600cp or Grand Overlord?

Both of them are a pain to get...while cp is not necessary to boost to max, each alliance war rank gives you a skill point and I hate the idea you need to have no life to get those pvp skill points

3600 could with their new system might as well go try to get to 65 on BDO lmao. Prolly grind to 2k cp then spend 1000 hours for 1 cp

There are only 32 Skill Points needed to max out the Assault and Support skills lines, another 5 points for the Emperor Passives. (it appears that those passives are given to you with out having to use Skill Points)

So you don't need all 50 Alliance Ranks.

With the current system you can easily reach GO before 1500 CP, and even that is an understatement.

Casual math suggests that at my current rate, I will have 1400-1500 cps when I hit GO on one of my PvP toons, 1200 if I stop playing both and just focus on the one with the higher rank. That's a far distance from 3600.

Emperor passives do not require skill points. They're active/unlocked by default.

Someone needs to update the skill calculator I used, it tallied the points. BTW, I would hope the Emperor Passives would be gratis.

You can use the skill points outside of PvP as well, so they are more useful overall.

I said Grand Overlord because I PVP. Now, that seems a little strange, because the AP grind is a lot easier than the sheer length of time it would take to grind up to 3600CP. 3600CP is a lot!

But to get to Grand Overlord, you actually have to PVP. You have to PVP a lot. And if these forums have taught me anything, its that a fair amount of the player base has little to no desire to PVP or even set foot in Cyrodiil outside of the bare minimum that ZOS forces people to do to get skyshards and skills.

A dedicated PVPer will find it easier to get to Grand Overlord. 3600CP will happen in time.
A dedicated PVEer will find it easier to get to 3600CP. Grand Overlord might as well be on the moon.

My answer isn't based on the numbersm since I understand that 3600CP is the mathematically harder one to get. I answered based on the understanding that there are some, perhaps many, players who have no desire to PVP.

Hit wrong button. 3600 is much more time consuming with current scaling.

There are lots (okay maybe not "lots") of Grand Overlords out there, but I've yet to see a 3600.

I am nearing 900 CP after 2 years of playing (30+ hours a week), leveling up 12 characters.

I'm quite sure if I'd put my first character in PVP at level 10 and stayed there, not doing anything else in the game for that 2 years, that character would have reached the rank of Grand Overlord by now.

On second thoughts he wouldn't have, because I would have been bored to death and quit the game long before he reached GO as I can only spend so much time in PVP.

If there would be a point to have 3600cp, like when you go over the cap - one actual cp to spend for 5 cp gained... trust me, you would see people with 3600cp

    Probably, yeah.

I actually did know somebody with 2k or so, back when they were uncapped. He'd likely be there already, but he kinda ragequit when he was brought down to the same level as us mortals.

Working on my second 5 star now his lvl is currently 38 I believe and I have 910 CP over 5000 hours played so far and after I'm done with this one I'm sure I can get a 3rd with out even going over 1500 CP getting to rank 50 is pretty easy as compared to getting to 3500 CP

    That depends.

CP is more time consuming, but not harder. You go into braindead bot mode and farm until it's done - no braincell activation needed.
PVP on the other hand is dynamic, unpredictable and ever changing. It has ups, downs, grace periods. You may win, you may be decimated (in which case you earn nothing) and thus making it hard to predict when you will arrive at your goal.
It entirely depends on your skill and knowledge of PvP to succeed. If you put a braindead botfarmer in PvP he will NEVER get to grand overlord, however he can easily and happily churn away to max CP with no interruptions.
People just assume that time to grind = difficult. Far from it, nothing difficult about it, just time consuming. CP grinding has no pre-requisites, you find a spot and grind.
PvP on the other hand takes a long time to practice and perfect to become efficient at farming AP (we are not including exploits, boosting and dirty keep farming tactics which happened recently and got nerfed as a result) but true and fair AP gain.
Thus making it a barrier and no-go for many, whereas farming CP is available to ANYone.

    So, TL;DR.
CP - time consuming but easy.
AP - less time consuming but far more difficult.

    Choose your poison.

CP can be gained anywhere. Overlord is PvP.

    Also CP is account wide.

    Yay, statistics \o/

64.680.000 AP needed for GO -> 50 AP per Wallrepair -> 1.293.600 holes in a wall patched up.

6.812.398.873 XP needed for 3,6k CP -> 50 XP per Mudcrab -> 136.247.978 Mudcrabs to kill.

Repairing walls does not require combatskills but costs gold <-> mudcrabs drop money, but require skill to kill.

Kill Mudcrabs for the money -> buy repairkits to fix walls.

Both of them sound quite easy, but following that order, u will have 3,6k CP first ;)

More seriously: Ill get max cp sooner or later for doing writs or sth, to get GO, it would need 14 more AP-only motifs, and i would have to farm the ap on the same char, on average that should take the better part of the next 14 years. (not really serious^^)
