Viability of a Dunmer Dragonknight tank

Hello there, I've been levelling up a dunmer dragonknight with the end goal of getting me a magDK to add to my champion characters, but as I level it I've kinda realised that I don't really enjoy it that much....maybe it's the whip, I don't know. What I DO like though, is tanking, and I have many fond memories from my health templar tank, so I wondered about whether I could make a tank out of it? I'm not really a hardcore min-maxer, but I do like to do vet dungeons and normal trials, and don't want to let my levelling go to waste so would a dunmer tank set me back too much?

(I mean I could race change but honestly there are better things for me to spend my crowns on.....plus it's soo expensive..)

100% yes. You can easily make a viable Dunmer DK tank. And, if you're not running vet trials- you'll have a lot of room to experiment with the build.

If you want to go for normal trials and vet dungeons- you can easily wear different armor types. Hell, I tank dungeons on my Dunmer mDK with a 5l/1h/1m build. It's got a lot of DPS and high self heals- but you need to know enemy placement and when to block. I also suggest a 5h/1m/1l Kagrenac & Silks build for tanking/soloing world bosses.

You can totally be a Dunmer DK tank. I have one that I do vet dailies on, also have done VDSA a number of times on him as well.

While there are a couple races that would do better, namely Argonian and Imperial, the Dunmer would do fine.

Dunmer Dragonknight Tank here . Completed every single content , easiest to hardest . If you want to min/max , Imperial is best

Thanks for reassuring me! May I ask what setup you're using, not exactly sure what's optimal, although I guess tanking is really based a lot on preference

This is my written guide/build for tanking . This is mainly for end-game though . It works for veteran dungeons too obviously .

Idea is , when you use Blockade of Storms and switch to your front bar , your Blockade procs Crusher enchant . This is without a doubt the best way to proc Crusher enchant which is 2740 armor reduction on my build . Problem here is , if you are new to tanking , I recommend you to use double 1h/s . Using a Lightning Staff will get you killed if not careful . This is kind of a high risk/high reward gameplay .

Yup yup, both me and Liofa plays Dunmers, and while he as completed more stuff than me we both know what we are talking about regarding Tanking and Dunmers. Cause Dunmers for life!

I have a Dunmer dk hybrid that has *** dps... basically don't go hybrid if you want high dps....

I also have a Dunmer Warden that I use for tanking, and she works out really well.

No for Tank, OP said he WAS a magDK but didn't really like it so swapping to Tank. And Imperial and Argonian are the 2 best Tank races.
