vMA Magicka DK tips

Hi all, so I've been trying for a couple months now to beat the vMA on my magicka DK (never cleared it before on any toon), and it's just not going well. I don't know if it's normal to die literally a hundred times to the same boss, or if there is something crucial that I am not understanding about this arena. I'm on the Rink of Frozen Blood, and this last boss is just impassable to me. I am a 646 CP High Elf dragonknight running 4 pieces of Infallible Aether, 5 BSW, and I have tried some different monster sets to accompany those, to no avail (Grothdarr, Slimecraw, and even Mighty Chudan). The thing I am struggling with most is handling the adds. There are so many archers and casters, I tried running reflective scale, but it burned through my magicka and took time away from fighting the boss. Has anyone else had a particularly difficult time with this? Does it just take practice? Or is there something I'm doing wrong?

    I usually like to run 5 sun and valkyn in vMA because they both have health bonuses and makes life a little easier. As for the adds, when you start on the pad that you spawn in on, after burning the boss for a bit adds will spawn on your right. Kill the archer asap and move on to the next pad as the boss should be destroying that pad soon. Kill the melee and the nereid and continue burning the boss. the next adds to spawn will be towards the back of the arena, I usually like to drop a destroy ult on them to kill them quickly. than for the final wave of adds will spawn on the left side of the arena and this is where it is best to grab the defense sigil and just ignore the final adds.

    Don't give up! That boss is very difficult and vMA is very difficult on mag dks.

    Adds on the round 5 boss are based on the boss's health. When adds spawn, kill the adds before going back to the boss. Start on the platform with the speed buff. When the boss breaks the platform move to the platform with the health buff and pull it. On the last platform, you'll have the defensive and the power buff. Pull both of these when the boss breaks the second platform, drop standard, THEN you focus on bursting the boss. The defensive sigil will keep the dangerous adds off you long enough to burst the boss before she breaks the last platform.

    First off, this fight is not a DPS race, in fact it is the opposite. Mechanics will happen at certain health intervals. As said above you'll start on the platform you spawn in on. At 90% first set of adds spawn. Take them down before getting the boss to 75% because at that point he breaks the first platform. If you're having issues managing your resources grab the speed sigil on your way to the second platform as it gives you increased regen as well as speed. Second platform is the one on your right (with the healing sigil). This isn't a score run so might as well take the healing sigil as soon as you get to it. About 60-65% second wave of adds spawn. This add wave is where flappy wings comes in handy as they're both ranged. Kill adds then get boss to 50% where he will break the second platform. This is where I like to drop a destro ult because he has to go through that long animation of breaking the platform. If you don't feel comfortable dropping it there just save it for when he gets to the final platform. There will be a third set of adds at the final platform but they will end up killing themselves because you're going to grab the defense sigil and if you're not feeling comfortable with your damage output grab the damage one too. Ignore adds kill boss, this platform is on a timer.

    Pro tip: You can make the ranged adds come to the edge of the platform by getting on the opposite edge that they're on. Basically playing their limited range against them.
