✭✭✭✭✭See, I was very annoyed by returning to Skuldafn. What we know of it from Skyrim is what Odahviing says: "You have the Thu'um of a dovah, but without the wings of one, you will never set foot in Skuldafn."
While perhaps Odahviing is meant to be an unreliable narrator or things have changed since the 2nd Era and the tunnel leading to Skuldafn has since been destroyed, we are given no reason in Skyrim to think that Odahviing is mistaken or lying. It annoys me that ESO retconned Odahviing's statement in order to send us to an iconic location. Not to mention that Nahkriin was apparently sleeping the entire time that two armies fought over the temple.1
