Crown store "Second Mortgage": How much would you pay?

The topic has been beaten to death, but a lot of whining and "gimme gimme" is not going to get ZOS' attention. Therefore, if there was a crown store item we'll call the "Second Mortgage" (or perhaps "Hoarders Certificate") that granted you a one time use that adds 100 slots to one home, and you could buy and use more than one per home, how much would you pay for one of these?
It is assumed that active ESO+ subscribers would benefit from the doubling of this amount.
This is not a discussion of feasibility, performance, or implementation details. I just want to open ZOS eyes to players' willingness (or lack of) to throw cash in their direction for a feature I believe most of us want.

    I guess I'd go 2k for the 200 I'd get with plus.

In reality I'd pay more for one or maybe two packs to perfect my main home but if they kept the price sensible I'd buy for multiple homes - not to mention all the additional crowns for those bits of furniture which can't be crafted or have ultra rate recipes that would fill up those extra slots.

Well every month I get my 1500 crowns and every month I open 4 crates and STILL NO mount, so am I going to have to spend money just to get a special mount but for a house a big fat 0, I dont even visit the free house I got, I do have a guild home though and that was the 10k+ crown one in Craglorn

That was kind of my thinking. The cheapest "small" homes are roughly 2k, and they have 100 stock slots (200 for ESO+). I could pay ~2k to acquire another small house and its 100 slots, and ESO/ZOS happily does that now. But I don't want those homes! I'm realistic, and I'm willing to spend more to get more, when it is about making my home mine! I could afford one of those giant homes, but they don't feel right. I would be willing to buy a mansion and leave it empty if they would just let me use its item budget across my other (2) homes. A cumulative item budget seems very reasonable to me, but (a) that may not work for players that already own one of everything, and (b) I already declared implementation mechanics as off-topic, so....*shrug*

Yah, that was really poor form on my part. I should not have let judgmental language seep into the choices. It's going to skew the final results. I really do apologize. Maybe Gina can snip that part out without affecting the rest, but my experience with other forum polls is that they cannot be changed without wiping the voting slate clean.

Firstly I don't see why we should pay for this, we already do if we have ESO+. There are more then enough ways to make money with housing already and this shouldn't be another one.

Secondly the reason why they don't increase the slots is performance not money, as they often stated and I believe them since it's the only logical reason presented so far and more slots would automatically mean more money.

I don't really have much of a budget when it comes to this game, and I also don't do the housing thing much, but they deserve the slots for free. Or at least for people who are subscribed.

You need to be able to decorate your house. That is the point.

Well. Housing would need improvements for me to spend cash on it.
    • More stash space. While having a mount boost our own stash space, owning a house could boost bank space. Large manors would provide most benefits in this department, and room tier ones would provide just few bank slots. This system would result in player wanting to buy a lot of homes, even the 105 euro ones, to gain as much storage as possible.
    • Functional assistants. Banker without access to guild store, merchant without repair abilities, fence that cannot sanitize loot. This bs must stop, once these are placed inside our homes. All assistants that are anchored in houses must provide same benefits as any merchant/banker/fence we encounter on our adventures around Tamriel.
    • Functional books. Is there any point in obtaining these books from Mage's Guild if reading them on our alts provide zero benefits? Hunting for them is complete waste of time, game of TagTheBook, really. Make it so that books from that exact zone (Auridon books placed in Auridon home, etc) could count for Mage's Guild when read by our alts in a home owned by us. This would also provide an initiative for players to own as many homes as possible, and would prove a QoL improvement as well.
    • Interactive stuff. Yeah, we can turn on and off the lights and even sit on a chair. WOW is this real life? How about we get to lie down on our beds, open cupboards, have our pets roam the area freely and not just stand in same spot as a plants.
These stuff I wrote about would be great improvements to somewhat stale housing. I would gladly pay 1500 crowns for each 100 more slots on each home where such thing would be possible. Who knows, I might even buy some crown exclusive momes as well, if these would provide more stash space.

You have not already paid for anything you don't already have. ZOS told you exactly what you would get for your ESO+ sub. In any case, we always "pay for this". For what, and for how much, are the only questions. Our wonderful-yet-flawed fantasy escape is only here for us because someone thought we'd give them $ to make it for us. It turns out they were right, and--with the competitiveness of MMORPGs in general--they must be doing it mostly right. You make it sound like ESO+ sub gives you nothing in return. Among the many benefits of ESO+ that I'm sure you're taking advantage of, your housing slots are already doubled, and you receive 1500 crowns every month to spend on your luxury(s) of choice. You can buy more if you like, and/or you can cease the subscription altogether. It's all about prioritizing your in-game and real-life budgets, which will never be infinite. Never forget that ZOS is here to make money, and every decision of consequence includes a cost-benefit analysis. There are real costs for everything ZOS provides. Sure they'll give some things away, but only when the analysis suggests that doing so will make them even more elsewhere. The point of the poll is to determine if there is enough money/incentive for ZOS to provide this additional, strictly optional, way to spend crowns.

To your second point, ZOS' overly-simplified statement has....issues. More than once in my 3 decades as a professional software engineer I have been on the business side of statements like that. Nothing calms the masses quite like "it can't be done", even when it can. Remember that whole cost-benefit thing? Yeah. However, this is explicitly off-topic. If you care, you can find the contradictory evidence yourself, already in the game.

The weekend is about over and that'll be time to conclude this poll. Thank you to the 133 (so far) people that cared enough to vote and/or comment. I wish there were 10 times that many of us that weighed in.

Of course, we only get votes here from people that lurk here, and those--including myself--tend to be the one unhappy with one thing or another. I'm not surprised by the large percentage of people that indicate they want more storage, and could pay for an expansion, yet are unwilling to do so (at least publicly). Given that forums are generally weighed down by negative emotion, this percentage could have been a lot higher, without seeming out of place. The real surprises to me (so far) are:
    • The 18% that believe there's plenty of room already. Much higher than I anticipated among people that cared enough to vote at all.
    • The tiny percentage of people that use only gold. I thought that would be much higher.
    • Among the people willing to fork over at least some crowns to get more storage, the tiniest sub-group was the 1500 crown one. I expected that would be the sweet spot.

So, even with the high slanted and tiny sample set, maybe there's more education there for me than for ZOS. They may well have already hit the sweet spot from their POV.

@ZOS_GinaBruno is there any chance of getting a comment out of the product development team?

ZOS has stated they are working on the performance issues restricting housing item limits. When they resolve that, I don't think we should have to spend anything to get the higher limits. I would expect they would just increase them, keeping the double benefit for ESO+ subscribers.

Also, I did not vote because the poll is biased and no option fit.
