Could we PLEASE get a proper magicka summon set that isn't a Monster Helm?

Oops posted this in GD instead of PTS >_<

I love pets/summons, love em' to death... you know, I know it! But unfortunately the options for summons are extremely limited, with a grand total of 3 DPS/damage options in the entire game:
Morkuldin Set
LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160
(2 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
(3 items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(4 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage
(5 items) When you deal damage with a Light or Heavy attack, you have a 10% chance to summon an animated weapon to attack your enemies for 15 seconds. The animated weapon's basic attack deals 4551 Physical Damage.
Maw of the Infernal Set
LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160
(1 items) Adds 1064 Max Health
(2 items) When you deal damage with a Light or Heavy Attack, you have a 10% chance to summon a fire breathing Daedroth for 15 seconds. The Daedra's basic attacks deals 4257 Flame Damage. This effect can occur once every 15 seconds
Shadowrend Set
LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160
(1 items) Adds 129 Magica Recovery
(2 items) When you take damage, you have a 15% chance to summon a shadowy Clanfear for 15 seconds. The Clanfear's basic attack deals 3440 Magic Damage and apply Minor Maim to any enemy hit for 10 seconds, reducing their damage done by 15%. This effect can occur once every 15 seconds.

Of these three, both magicka options are Monster Helms so can't be used together while Morkuldin sits all alone as the only 5-peice crafted, dropped or otherwise summon set in the game. There are no stamina summon Monster Helms either! Unfortunately it seems from now on summons instead are being produced as "glorified proc sets" instead:
Infector Set Set (now spawns beside target instead of owner in CWC)
LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160
(2 Items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage
(3 items) Adds 833 Weapon Critical
(4 items) Adds 833 Weapon Critical
(5 Items) When you deal Critical Damage, you have an [8%] chance to summon a Hunger that spews poison to all enemies in front of it, dealing [9999] Poison Damage and stunning enemies hit for 5 seconds. This effect can occur once every 5 seconds.
Mad Tinkerer
(2) Spell Critical
(3) Spell Critical
(4) Spell Damage
(5) When you deal damage, you have a 10% chance to summon a Verminous Fabricant that charges the nearest enemy, dealing 10,000 Shock Damage to all enemies in its path, knocking them into the air, and stunning them for 2 seconds. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds.

Of course, in practice these sets just... well they don't work. We all know how easily the Hunger can be kited over its pathetic, 5 second window (where it has to get into melee range in order to spew poison) and it's so bad most procced Hungers don't actually do anything, even in PvE if anything other than a static boss is fought! Mad Tinkerer is unfortunately reported to not be any better, managing to be so inaccurate after proccing it was able to miss a target dummy. I wish I hadn't read it either, because missing a static target dummy is... troublesome.

@ZOS I'd really love it if we could get some more duration summons rather than "Proc effect" summons, especially are the "Proc effect" summons as above as incredibly flawed.

At the very least, please fix the "Proc" versions (Infector and Mad Tinkerer) so they are summoned for X seconds and will continue to use their effects until that summon duration expires.

A Hunger or Fabricant that can't reach or hit their target is completely wasted, but at least if they last for something like 15 seconds they should at least reach their target at least the once! Having them as full-fledged summon sets (like Maw of Infernal, which has multiple attacks) and their effects be one of their attacks would be amazing too, but I understand if you prefer them to be more like "proc sets". Please though, a Magicka equivalent to Morkuldin would be much appreciated!

    excellent post...definitely agree...

heck, zos can keep taking their time with that necromancer class if we can at least get some gear that'll raise a few dead things to fight for us occasionally...

The problem is, ZoS has had community feedback.
ZoS has yet to actually do anything.

    We can talk about it.
    Nothing will come of it.

The hunger and fabricant are literally designed to just hit once in a mechanical fashion, not actual pets that aid in combat.
With the design that they are in, ZoS should have just given up and made them behave as summons.

Conjuration in this game is awful, I won't even bother with spell crafting when and if it comes because nothing in that school of magic will work.

The Sorcerer's pets are fine, some morphs don't perform at all for any role.
I am under the impression that ZoS doesn't actually care to fix them.

    I'm just angry...

What i would love to see was either a necromancer or shaman skill line with summons, pets, totems etc. that anyone can access

According to the current PTS patch notes for Clockwork City, "Defiler: The monster summoned by this Item Set now spawns next to the enemy you critically hit, instead of spawning next to you."

I'm assuming that the Fabricant set will work the same way, although I have not tested that. That should put the "proc" back in these proc sets.

Done well, summons are a force multiplier. (Done poorly, they don't get used.) So, it makes sense that summon class skills are in line with the class skills of other classes. Summon monster helms are in line with the other monster helms. Gear-based summons are similar to proc sets. Or to put it another way, a gear set that summoned a longer-lasting summon would need to be correspondingly weaker in order to remain balanced with its own class of gear. You can even see that if you compare the gear sets, Morkuldin to Defiler to Mad Tinkerer, when you look at their proc chance, their proc timing, and their damage over time. I don't expect this balancing mechanic to change even if more summon sets get added.
