Mag Sorc by far is the easiest to pick up and do well with quickly. Everything they have is ranged, so you can stay out of the heat of battle and not die. You also have shield spam which will keep you alive through pretty much anything.

Stamina builds are very strong, but they are super squishy until you learn how to use them, which can take a lot of time.

To do well with against the general public

To kill Probably mag sorc - it's easy to line up curse wrath frag on most opponents
    To sustain probably warden
    To survive probably Templar

Imo NB is one of the most difficult

Um mag sorc is one of the ways to go but has its flaws. Its made of paper without shields. Shield stacking pushes you into defence so its harder to sustain the presure.
Much easier are imho heavy armored magplars and stam dks (also playing both). Not so mobile but are very hard to kill and if you mess something (which is easy at the begining) you wont insta die like when playing sorc.
Next are stamblades. Very high burst, best escape skill in the game (shadowy image) combined with cloak makes them quite fun.

In general. Stamblades and mag sorcs are very good at killing people, but need some practice when it comes to surviving when outnumbered. Magplars and stam dks, are easier to not get killed and ganked but require more skill to get a kill, especially magplar which has no decent ccs.

Its up to you what you choose, but remember that there is no class that will give you free wins, you need practice. You will find that PvP is more about being cunning, having eyes arround your head and to be able to predict your enemy moves than about class :)
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

Magplar is the easiest to use to go from "I stink at PVP" to "I'm reasonably competent!"

Also, Magplar offers the most potentially different end game viable builds so in the right hands they can be amazing. In the wrong hands not so much.

The class that you enjoy the most.

I'm being mostly serious--if you try a class whose skills and animations you don't enjoy, you probably won't stick with it long enough to master it. All classes can be effective in PvP, but which class do you want to put in the hours to git gud with?

But if you can't be bothered to git gud with a class, you can always magsorc.

TBH I think bad/new magsorcs are significantly easier to kill than bad/new templars, wardens, and DKs. Once they get to mid-level, that's when they start to overperform just a little bit.

I have 10 toons a Stam and mag of each class. I've played all of em in PvP and end game PvE.

The magSorc for me was the easiest in PvE and PvP. The burst combo is easy to set up and you have a nice array of defensive skills. Shields, Pet heals, Mines, streak. A great sustain burst tool in dark deal.

For those saying magPlar/magDK they are talking about groups/zergs solo or in small groups templars will get singled out and torn apart and they have no escape mechanics built in, just breath and buggy/useless skills. They are good but the "goodness" of that class was sucked out through the patches and will continue to until the class is deleted. MagDK does not have easy burst it takes people a little while to figure out how to kill with them, the worst players I see in cyrodil are new magDK they just spam talon or block themselves to death. MagDK you have to keep pressure on and accept that your health is not always going to be at max trust in the embers.... I see too many either go eat to turtle and just run out of mag/Stam or go way to offensive and run out of mag/Stam.

For a new player just picking up a class, a magSorc is by far the easiest route and safest as they are one of the strongest classes in both PvP and PvE. And have alot of useful skills that play differently. If you wanna be a summoner slot pets if you want to go classic then do so, wanna have more crowd control you got it.

Not saying any is op/ezmode just the sorc is the most user friendly and then obviously when you get to end game it takes massive skill and practice to play like the best yadda yadda

I think I'll agree with most that Mag Sorc is easiest to pick up, next I would say NB Gank.

But then we are only talking about Damage, when it comes to heals, then Vamp Templar is easy mode.

Tanking, DK but they may be second to wardens now.

It all depends on what 'easiest' entails. Easiest to kill opponents, easiest stay alive in a group, easiest to go ham and take on several opponents at once? I also think there is a sizable difference between how certain classes play between console versus PC. Not something you hear much on the forums but from what I see on videos PC can still animation cancel whereas console not so much.

Made the following character in order: StamDK -> StamBlade ->MagSorc->MagDK

StamDK: Easiest to stay alive imo but not as easy to bring someone else down. Especially with the mechanic change in I think Orsinium update (whenever Wrecking Blow got nerfed). Heal-centric builds like Templars can heal/purge your dots. Kind of stuck w/2H which is a style I find tedious. StamDK's are good utility players in a group though. Not gonna be the star but a solid contributor across the board.

StamBlade: Was shocked at how easy it was to make a kill when all geared up. Took a lot of time to learn how to kill and escape. My opinion this class is the most 'noob friendly' of any I have tried. Once you play on one for a while it can be crazy deadly.

MagSorc: Just my experience but going from Stam to Magicka was rocky. Learning how to be effective took me a good while. So I personally do not believe MagSorc is quite as easy as some make it seem. I still struggle in 1v1 situations vs a pretty good opponent. MagSorc's are not very forgiving if you mess up a rotation. Just hard casting frags 1v1 can mean death. When lag effects your ability to bar switch you are definitely in trouble. But once you get into a nice rhythm timing your shields and burst a Sorc is amazing. Maybe starting w/Magicka they are more noob friendly than I experienced.

MagDK: Got bored quickly. Not a very fun class to play or play against in my humble opinion.

Stam NB - first character, fairly difficult. I struggled to do well. Also, after 2 years of playing, I realized it's not suited for me. Has since become my crafter/thief...

Hybrid DK - She was a Khajiit Stam based at first, back when stam DK struggled a lot b/c of bad heals. changed her a week before Stam DK buff. She is now a dunmer hybrid, and is quite frankly a lot of fun. She is difficult, but better suits my playstyle. I can't get kills as easily, but when I do, it's satisfying.

I've tried Magicka and Stam Sorc and got bored of them quickly

I've tried the old version of magicka templar - didn't think too fondly of it, considering on working on her.

    Stamina templar is fun

Warden is fun. Mag warden got boring, had to low dps, have since changed to mag warden tank. More interesting...

In otherwords, despite playing since beta, i'm still figuring out my play style. Different classes will yield different results in terms of difficulty. It depends on your play style and what you feel comfortable with.

    oh and many hours pvp-ing

    Easiest magicka class is templar.
Once you're geared you can easily tank 5+ people with block casting bol and LoS with mist form. Still you can do pretty good damage with puncturing/purifying light/ulti/radiant.
Then magdk: just hold block and spam all of your skill, easiest class to survive but you need to be really good to get a kill.
Mag sorc is not so noon friendly; if you forget to refresh shield even for a second you're dead meat.

Then we have stamina(surviving is a lot harder then magicka)
Stam nb is the easiest stamina across the board, just put some mag regen and with one day of practice and a pair of hands you can reset the fight with cloack and get sweet vigor crits for free. Also the only class that can play medium without being punished too much.
Other classes are quite similiar with stam sorc being a little easier thanks to dark deal/implosion. Also stam warden once you get in the swing of it its almost immortal with godly burst and A LOT of utility for your group.

I would have to say stam dk is first and stam nb is 2nd.

With stam dk you don't have to put in much effort to be extremely tanky and yet have high weapon damage. Their heals are also absurd. Sorcs have shields but once those are gone (and they have 0 resistance), they basically don't have any armor

As for stam nb, ganking unsuspecting victims isn't too tough. They also have the highest burst damage out of the classes and cloak, which is borderline broken.

Sorcs are perceived as easy because curse and frags can be casted easily from a distance, but if the player doesn't know what they're doing, they won't be able to do anything with those skills. They will also be a sitting duck because their resistances are so low. Also sorcs have by far the worst healing of any class (without pets), that is not debatable in any way.

The first reaction from most will be magic sorc. I think the best argument for that is that are pretty effective from range and mages wrath will inflate your KB ratio a bit. I dont think they are the easiest class to actually get good at, and it's definitely not the best 1vX class. It's a lot of bar swapping and button pressing. Their defense is very active (basically has it's own rotation) and their offense must be timed very well to line up burst combos. That said, if you want to play from the sideline and steal some kills once in a while, mSorc is a strong choice.

My vote is probably templar if you are actually looking to dive into combat. They have a bit of everything. Spammable, Awesome heals, Ranged execute, etc. DKs are also not bad if your primary goal is to not die. They will struggle with getting KBs originally, but it's easy to build a very tanky character.
