Minuit's Wishlist - Now a ESO Community QoL list

Below are some improvements I've been considering over the last year and finally got around to putting them down for people to comment on. I hope ZOS considers some of these base-game enhancements. Several of them are minimal impact quality-of-life updates.
  1. Character Selection Screen
    1. Allow purchasing crown service tokens.
    2. Allow reordering (i.e. prioritizing) the characters
    3. Allow reordering of Guilds. (Since they are account-based, this is an ideal place to put this option as it would apply to all characters and not interfere with in-game menus. No conversion/update is necessary to move colors, etc - add-ons can do that heavy lifting.) An alternative/compromise would be at least letting us prioritize which roster appears as default.
  2. Settings
    1. Provide a setting to disable MOTD notifications.
    2. Provide a setting to disable Home Campaign on-screen notifications.
    3. Provide a default map pin size (Wayshrines and Houses are still way too large).
  3. Group
    1. Allow subgrouping: Within a group allow changing colors (maybe assigning a group #).
    2. /Activity Finder
      1. Add “Disband Group” hotkey option for group leader (or replace “leave group” with “disband”).
    3. Teleport Invite
      1. Remove the invite that occurs when the group leader is in Cyrodiil/Imperial City - you'll never let us port in. :)
  4. Guild Roster
    1. Guild Roster should always appear by default instead of the info tab (MOTD/AU).
    2. Provide an option to see ALL guildmates from ALL guilds at once with the usual columns.
  5. Map
    1. Provide a toggle to show the Cyrodiil map in any Campaign (at least Home vs. Guest).
    2. Provide an option to hide non-purchased houses from map.
    3. Remove the cost for teleporting to a wayshrine for ESO Plus members (also remove the cooldown character effect).
  6. Itemization
    1. Add Epic quality Treasure Maps for group dungeons and trial dungeons. Imagine getting an Epic Treasure Map and that having 100% chance of a dungeon set item!
    2. Add more alchemy components for buffs/debuffs that are missing (Force, Beserk, Aegis, Mending, Heroism, Slayer, Toughness, Mangle). Something that could be brought over from Skyrim are more farm-able components like
      • Void Salts (Storm atronachs)
      • Frost Salts (Frost atronachs)
      • Fire Salts (Fire atronachs)
      • +Stone Dust (Air atronachs and Gargoyles)
      • <perhaps dual-purpose some provisioning components or bait>
    3. Trait Removal (even with re-traiting, this is still warranted)
      1. Remove the Invigorating trait… We know ZOS hates recovery for the infinite builds and no one uses it because it’s too small of a bonus - this is merely a placeholder trait to say “you lost” when obtaining gear. Please speak up community if you actually like this trait.
      2. Remove Training when looting gear at the gear cap (CP160)... Anyone that wants training gear will craft it in their desired sets anyway. Similarly, no one I know of uses starter zone treasure maps - they just sell them for people still levelling that want the “trainee” set.
    4. Allow showing a Guild Tabard with costumes. Add an option to hide it to settings.
    5. Allow access to the Craft Bag while in a Trade transaction.
    6. Add a drink item to significantly increase chances of catching trophy fish and make it require at least one Perfect Roe.
    7. The fishing-hole light from Hissimir Fish-Eye Rye is too subtle; change it to a column of light coming from the water. It will dramatically help people fishing see if holes are available from distance.
  7. Crafting (and Dyeing)
    1. When crafting items, allow a preview of it. Ideally it would remove all clothing and apply the piece being targeted by the create window and update as level and style are updated. (Crafting Preview is nice, but it should be built into the game.)
    2. Allow dyeing weapons and shields - this is long overdue.
    3. Add Intricate as a trait that's craft-able.
  8. Sets and Set Items
    1. Go through group dungeon set items and make the named items match the set for which they are for. There are too many to note but for an example, look at items for Strength of the Automaton and Netch’s Touch.
    2. Update Malubeth the Scourger’s (2-item) bonus from 6% to 15% proc chance.
  9. Quests
    1. Remove Alessio Guillon and the Missing Prophecy quest once you’ve earned the momento. I don’t see the XP in this quest being something people will re-run on every alt and his presence in every city makes it seem like there is a relevant quest yet in the area.
  10. Housing
    1. Allow sitting on Khajiit/Redguard pillowed seats. They're not interactive presently.
    2. Add furnishings:
      1. Three lengths of rope (2m, 12m, 25m).
      2. Two more lengths of single board planks (2m, 25m).
      3. Elongated multi-board planks (i.e. other direction: half width, double length)
      4. Add a large ship - make an achievement for getting all trophy fish in the game (including DLC).
    3. Increase the Furnishing Caps
      1. ESO Plus accounts should get 1000 or 1500 slots for a Manor. The other houses should scale accordingly.
    4. Daggerfall Overlook
      1. Remove the slaughterfish from the water; the zone barrier you hit to the East will suffice - let us swim more! ;)
  11. Miscellaneous
    1. Stop bankers from timing out while you’re looking at your bank inventory. It used to be just Tythis Andromo being a moron and kicking you out, but now it’s all bankers.
    2. Increase ESO Plus Bank Accounts to 500 slots.
    3. Increase Guild Bank Accounts to 1000 slots.
    4. Increase the friend's list cap - if someone were active in 5 guilds, they could certainly have more than 100.
    5. Provide skill re-specification on a point-by-point basis. The champion tree works great for tweaking points, likewise when someone merely needs to move some skill points around, it's tedious having to redo the entire set of skills.
  12. Combat
    1. If enemies can hit you, no matter how far they've followed you, they should not instantly reset when taking damage - you should have the right to fight/kill them just as they can kill you if you were to stand still.
  13. Crown Store
    1. Add a “Masterful Riding Lessons” item (10,000 crowns). It offers a discount vs 18,000 crowns to max capacity/speed/stamina. The token should raise any current mount skill to 60.

    I'll add couple more ideas to that list.

    Make crafted potions and poisons with the exact same effects stackable regardless of ingredients used.

    Add dual stat enchantments, so health/magicka, health/stamina, and magicka/stamina.

    Make Dungeon Hard Modes worth doing. Right now the only reason to do a hard mode is for an extra undaunted key, if you don't have a pledge its entirely a waste of time and effort to do the hard mode. It doesn't have to be gold jewelry like in trials, but there should be some reward for the effort.

    Sounds like a nice idea but I'm not sure how that would work - the game is centered around map updates based on you zoning to it... I like the option to keep the map zoomed fully out to region though.

    I totally support 5.2. I hate how this game forces you to give up your life to farm millions of gold coins in order to "collect" all the houses in the game. That's ridiculous!

    This is a great list. Please add a few of my suggestions to it.

    - Make gear have an option to "Inspect". Basically right click on any piece of gear, hit inspect, then a window in game pops up (just like the dye station window) showing what your toon would look like wearing said gear piece.
    - When looking at a piece of gear (crafting, left clicking on a linked piece, or just mouse hovering over top) please make the picture like 5 times larger, literally. My eyes are not that bad, but I am damn tired of not being able to see what gear actually looks like until its equipped.
    - Double the size of the friends list, 100 isn't very "massive" for an "MMO".
    - Add more options for respeccing skills. Just every skill or every morph is waaaaaaay to generic. Should be an option to pick a few skills that you want to drop and get the points back from. This becomes even more important when you get to 350+ skill points.
    - HAVE AN AUTO CHARGE/REPAIR OPTION! With adjustable % options obviously. Should not need an addon for this.
    - Make crafting bags accessible in a trade window.
    - HOW COME MOBS FOLLOW YOU FOR LIKE 400 YARDS, WHILE STILL ABLE TO ATTACK YOU THE WHOLE TIME, then as soon as you shoot them once with a bow they run back to their spawning point... IMO whatever the distance is where you attacking them causes them to disengage and run back to their spawning point, should also be the distance they stop running after you... Yea I caps locked that, what you gonna do about it.
    - ACHIEVEMENT POINTS LEADERBOARD.

    The Crafting Preview add-on will take care of that for you - but that add-on should become a base-game addition.
    Consequently, there's also a furnishing preview add-on that's nice when visiting vendors.

    Yes I agree; it would be nicer to go to a shine and let it pop up the skill window with a NOT sign or MINUS sign to take off a skill - we'll still pay 50 or even 100 each... but resetting all of them at once in a pain.

    Wykkyd add-on still lets you auto-repair and i heard there's an auto-charge add-on that works everywhere except Trial dungeons (consequently) but I haven't tried it yet.

    I would like containers like you get on the pts that you couldn't customize for your own load outs. It is tiresome to search through 500 bank slots when you are looking for gear.

    1. It would be good to be able to rearrange our characters and guild lists in game. The location for doing that is not important. As for purchasing service tokens from outside of the crown store, it is a minor inconvenience to log into a character so I would not suggest Zos spend time on it.

    2. Being able to turn off home sites that we do not own would be beneficial. There are just so many and I agree the icons are to large. As for wayshrines, the size is not outsized considering their importance that even you note later in your post.
    MOTD is considered to have a high importance since it is the only in game system Zos has provided for messaging important information from the leadership to the members. If they are changing to much, just let them know.

    3. Colors should be based on role. That provides the most worthy information.
    Any leader can assign groups and players should be able to remember. As for disbanding group, there is no reason this should have a hotkey or anything else. The group lead is able to leave the group just like anyone else. That change should never happen.

    4. MOTD makes more sense to have on the first page and it is really just an opinion but seeing the roster first is just an opinion also. Guild leaders are providing information and a message, from their perspective that is priority over a player wanting to see the roster first. So, the current means takes priority. stays the same.
    Also, do not see much of a need to see all rosters of all guilds as one and absolutely not with all columns since rank would be meaningless. Zos provided 100 slots for a friends list so we can add those we consider the most important to see in one list.

    5. Since we do not see Cyrodiil map via the Cyrodiil interactive this would not be a simple change. Would be a nice to have but the cost benefit comparison may be more than Zos deems worthy. Cost to travel to a wayshrine since it is small. While I think anyone would like free, I think what most of us would put a higher priority on is eliminating the costs of traveling from a home needs to be removed. It is easy to travel to any zone free by traveling to a friend or guild mate for free and this idea has not really been mentioned much in the forums I think it is fine as it is.

    I stopped at that point due to the overall length of the list and it appearing more like the OP's wish list less of the QoL the community wants.

    Yes, there are some nice to haves on the list but throughout many ideas are not really something the player base is screaming for or even much mention of wanting them.

    Some of the suggestions OP wants are there for a reason. Case in point, one reason we get kicked from the banker is exploiting this to prevent getting kicked from game due to inactivity. Other ideas are not possible to implement like an achievement for catching all trophy fish including DLCs since this changes at least twice a year. It would mean removing an achievement each time a new trophy fish is added or ceasing adding trophy fish.

    Considering only 2 players have previously posted in this thread during the several weeks it has been around I think it is clear this is not a community QoL list. ( a third posted while I was initially creating this post.

    @Shadzilla there, made it nicer, does not change the message really and this is still one persons wish list, not a community list by far.

    While there are some nice aspects of this, I think I have clearly shown it is not an ESO QoL community list as the title states in an attempt to add weight to the OPs opinions. Yes, there are some nice ideas, but many are really not needed and others are not solid ideas to add to the game. The title should merely be named the OP's wish list for accuracy sake.

    Dude your negativity though... I agree this thread's traffic has been sub par to say the least, that does not hide the fact that there are a large amount of great addition suggestions that would do nothing but benefit the community.

    Regularly released free DLCs. You are kind of limited in the game if you don't subscribe to ESO+ or buy the DLCs. Maybe make the 4-pack free for everyone and the new ones paid. Then after a few months or years, turn those DLCs free and repeat.

    So a DLC would be released, an year or so after its release date it'd be available to everyone. That way we (standard, non sub players) can have acces to DLC stuff and won't have a progress limitation.

    The put them on sale after a year, IC was just on sale for the second time. Also bundled the first 4 into a package.

    A new option for AvA Announcements has been added to the Social settings. This allows you to configure when AvA Announcements, such as an Elder Scroll being returned, are displayed as center screen messages. These will now only display while you are in an Alliance War location by default, and you can turn them completely on or off as well.

    Btw. ZOS should also switch back campaigns to be "alliance locked" (To prevent team swapping - logging form one alliance to another still within the same campaign) as it is now only the source of exploits and it breaks 3 vs 3 banner war balance completely....

    Don’t like that. It’s already a massive grind for Roe. It’s a massive grind for trophy fish. I’m after Master Angler so any roe I get is just an added bonus. I would like to have a food that doesn’t require roe. If it’s just improving the chance of trophy fish I don’t see the point for the roe requirement.

    I want the name of sub-areas of the zone to appear like they do in Cyrodill. For example If I am in Mournhold I want to see the word lagomere from when I head over from the siltreen area. The only way to see sub-area of a zone was the dark anchors, which in new zones-is non existant (probably because we stopped the plane meld). Sub-zones like Daenia, Alcair, Redolent Loam, Retickulated Spine, Murkwasa, Menevia, Gauvidon, Winter's reach, Dean Seeth, Zabumat, the drowned coast, the smokefrosts, Boralis, Mournolth, Ephisuis/ect. add fun to the lore of the zone asnd should be in the dlc zones as well. Just ranting.

    I wish motif chapters would become more and more obtainable and put less and less into crown crates!!

    Look at what they did to the Order of the Hour and Minotaur Motifs! They will probably follow suit with the great house motifs as well just you wait and see!!

    Housing:

    We already have "Rough" items eg planks
    Why can't we have "Refined" items eg sanded planks. Or perfectly smooth Marble blocks or what not.

    and

    STAIRS.
    Why are there no stairs available for purchase???? I've seen a circular staircase made of Wooden Platform, Rough (that has one step on it) and also a circular staircase made of Daedric Thrones, Skull (on their sides) - and the circular staircase I made was out of rough stone blocks - but because they're rough, I have to spend hours trying to get the height of each step right so that the ascension is smooth. At present my character doesn't have to jump at all but it's annoying as hell when she falters going up.


    Edit: oh and please... let us deconstruct furnishing items we've crafted... I wasted a ton of Heartwood making several of the Wooden Platform, Rough before deciding to buy the stone slabs for steps. Would like to get all that back.

    Forcing someone to empty an entire node or chest, so they respawn. I do not farm nodes, but I hear soooo many people complaining about it, I figure its worth adding.
