Where do you think the customisation in ESO is heading?

So I was thinking about it this morning when I should have been studying, and it seems like there's been a definite push to give customisation options to players.

* We can now get all sets at any level, giving us massive amounts of choice with gear and gear combinations
* We know re-traiting is coming soon, allowing us to change the traits on the equipment we have
* Transmogrification is coming at some point (can't remember if they confirmed that or not)
* Spellcrafting is confirmed to be not dead and still something they want to put into place as of May this year (

So my question is, where do we see this eventually going? Have they dropped other hints at possible plans for further player controlled customisation? Are there things we know or suspect are in the works?

    My random thoughts:

ZoS clearly like the idea that you can customise your own special build and get within the tolerances of end game (25k to 30k dps or whatever)
I think going forward thy will continue to tweak the game systems to unlock more possibilities and make more options viable.

We have confirmed re-style coming "soon". the re-trait is the first part of that system and will be in PTS this month. I would expect re-style in the February update.

Spell crafting I'm putting in the "not going to happen unless they make a new announcement about it" bucket along with jewellery crafting and whatever else they have talked about as possibilities in the past.

I wouldn't be surprised if next year we get some changes to the way max resource pools affect damage making hybrid builds possible. ZoS keep putting hybrid sets in yet their DPS system punishes anyone for attempting it, but this is just speculation on my part.

I would also expect some further changes to traits, possibly slight buff to invigorating, once they have solid stats on how many people will use it once they can re trait; no one.

Also expect a big push towards more daily repeatable content with rewards people might actually want, like motifs or furniture or dyes. re trait will remove a huge chunk of the incentive people have to repeat grind content. Considering how many people left because of burnout after grinding dungeon X 200+ times in an attempt to get a sharpened weapon, I think this is better, but people like to have a goal so they need a reward for repeating content.

Balance wise, I think you can expect a slight buff to the thief mundas. No one is using it atm. Warrior / apprentice is just flat out better in all circumstances. If you're using the thief, please stop.

I'll be very interested to see what they do with the class balance next now that sustain, CP and trait's have all been largely addressed with time for things to shake out. Hopefully they will pull back from the homogenisation which has slowly happened over the past 18 months and start making the classes a bit more unique again.

Up. Like up to the top of the screen. Just click on that crown store icon up there.

Id be surprised if restyle makes it by feb. The only article I saw had a question answered as yes it is something they want to do and are thinking about how to do it. It is complicated. Then it hit the forum and jumped right into they are working on it right now. And it will be here soon!

    what is "spellcrafting?"
"The red pill and its opposite, the blue pill, are a popular cultural meme, a metaphor representing the choice between:

Knowledge, freedom, uncertainty and the brutal truths of reality (red pill)
Security, happiness, beauty, and the blissful ignorance of illusion (blue pill)"

Insight to Agree to Awesome Ratio = 1:6.04:2.76 as of 1/25/2019

Compared to people that I've ignored = I am 18% more insightful, 20% less agreeable, and 88% more awesome.

    what is "spellcrafting?"

Someone else please jump in and correct me if I get anything wrong, but from what I've seen spellcrafting is something they announced they were working on back in 2014 (at Quakecon I think?). Basically it looked like you'd be able to search the world for these special rooms that would contain a tablet or fragments of a tablet, then you'd assemble it and take a rubbing off it to learn a new spell (I think one of the examples was Summon Fire Atronach). You'd then be able to modify the spell in various ways like duration, turning it into an AoE, turning it into an Ultimate etc., using runes which would alter the cost etc. It looked really cool but apparently the guy working on it left to work elsewhere. However as you can see in the tweet above they claim that it hasn't been scrapped yet. Here's a video that talks a bit about it (couldn't seem to find the original...)
