One piece of circumstantial evidence that doesn't fit the monetisation story is the recent trait change. Now you have 3-4 traits that are good on a weapon instead of just one. The difference is really small and none of them is a clear winer in itself, but it depends a lot on buffs, debuffs, skills etc. If they really wanted to earn a lot of money from it the "sharp or trash" META would have stayed.
I'll guess that if it doesn't come with Clockwork city, the option will eventually do. But obviously there is going to be an ingame, reasonably priced, way to retrait.MLGProPlayer wrote: »Why would they kill their own game by going P2W?
ZOS is in the business of making money. Kind of hard to do that if no one is playing your game.
There is zero chance re-traiting will cost crowns.
You obviosly have to sell your soul to Molarg Bal.Nothing is free and ZoS want's to pay his employes, so here we go. All estimation are per change

I am hoping not really... I always think 'cheats' and fastpassing basic game things completely ruins a game.... for example pretend I am playing Candy Crush... it is far too easy to just keep chucking money on bonuses to get past a level, and once you've done it once why not again and then what is the point in playing atall... if I make any sense?
With any luck it will be something along these lines... perhaps you HAVE to be a master trait in the item you want to retrait? At the VERY least know the trait you wish to change to. And then make it like researching.... you basically give the item to the workbench and get it back when the timer is done... I definitely don't think the finished item should be tradeable once completed and I also think it should cost some sort of material to do it, like someone else said a special retraiting gemstone which could either drop or even crown purchasable.
Another good thing would be the passive skill line that makes research quicker, maybe it should also make retraiting quicker so that passive skill is no longer redundant to master crafters.
Anyways, that is my tuppence to the convo

But it will also be conveniently available in the crown store for a modest price.
