What is wrong with the forums after the new layout - takes ages to load (no it is not my internet..)

I wonder if anyone also experiences this,

since few weeks ago, since the forum got the new layout, when I open a forum tread in a new tab it many times takes ages to load.
And no, it is not due to my internet connection, all other pages load fast and smooth, just the eso forums not.

ZOS, any insights what is wrong here?

Yeah it's a bit slow for me as well.

On my office machine which is slower (and a slower connection) I sometimes actually get a brief view of the original forums layout/theme before the new one is loaded on top of it/over it.

Hopefully they can find whatever the little slow down issues are and fix them. If you notice specifics post it here or in the other threads about forums issues as Gina has been keeping an eye on those and taking feedback as well as updating us.

Agreed! It sometimes doesn't load at all on my phone and I have to refresh it several times before it does. Only the black/gray background loads. Glad it's not just me!

yes, first it loads the black backround, then it takes like half a minute or minute to load the actual forum tread..

must be something with the new layout, it started there

The forum only loading a black page is due to a link change. All the old links I used to navigate the site had /en-gb after the main URL. It's been shortened to /en. It causes the site to navigate to an empty page.

Same here, takes ages to load and often doesn't load at all, just get the black background. Takes several tries.

Similar issue as well, usually, if it doesn't load within the first few seconds, I just stop and refresh the page. Quite annoying.

Didn't you notice that they made this "forum loading screen", because there were people who complained about this upper part of the page (where you can click on categories, dev tracker, recent, unabswered). It was scrolling down forum page when people were clicking on thread, so they decided to make us wait before this upper part load. I'm just saying, it was their idea.
