Changing my main character - magblade to stamblade - curiosities

Hi there

I need some other players opinions.

Im considering changing my main character, magblade - nonbomb build, from magicka to stamina. For pve and pvp.

I know that the burst in pvp for stamina is usually decent and unless you have a bombblade then magicka can usually keep up.

What's your opinion on stamina nightblade's in pve in general? Is this change worth the crowns to respec ?

sNB is prolly hardest one to master.

Don't use crowns to respec. You can use in game gold for that.

I much prefer my stamblade over my magblade. There is little content that she can't solo.

I'm a high elf atm so would probably change race to redguard or orc

    I'd go Khajiit.

If specced right. Stamblades are pretty durable. I'm actually looking to go the other way. I have 2 stamblades. I'm thinking of making the lover level one a magblade. I know what all the regen skills to take for a stam build. I have no clue where to start for a magica based build. From what I hear, survivability is based on shields and cloak. That doesn't really sound that fun.

I've had my magblade for about 18 months, trials can be really fun, pvp is can be enjoyable, especially with the movement speed boost from double take and crippling grasp, it's a shame they nerfed sustain as I had unlimited cloak....

Julianos is a good hard hitting starter set, skoria or grothdar monster sets can be fun too

Yeah, I'm kinda spoiled with the movement speed of my Orc Stam Warden. I hardly ever use my mount on him and can easily keep up with max speed mounts.

I assume you use destro staff as your weapon?

Just an opinion/advice. Probably not what you asked for and may not apply to you.

Don't change race on your current character to convert it from mag to stam and I will provide the reasons. A better option would be to level a new stamblade to 50? Its really easy and fast probably like a week ( worst case if you know what you're doing).

    1. You waste crowns. But if money isn't a concern for you ( its cheap tbh) then this point holds no weight.
    2. You might be bored with your magblade now. Or you might feel sNB is more powerful than mNB. But after a certain period of time, you might get bored with that sNB of yours and might want to play mNB for which you'll again have to respec your character.

PS: Just my 2 cents. I'm not stating that this would be better in general.

It's good advice! I have a stamblade already - a proc set cancerous khajit, it's amazing in pvp.

However I'm stating to level my achievements on my main character and just wasn't sure what Stam blades were like in pve

That was my experience as well.
But more fun to play once you -have- mastered them!

I have both a dunmer stamblade and a breton magblade, and I vastly prefer playing my dark elf bounty huntress girl (and not only because she is my main!)

As for power... well, things change every now and then, so you can never be sure, and chasing the FotM is a fools errant.

Stamblades often have trouble with survivabiltiy, due to lack of an "Oh, crud!" skill that can get them from near-death back into the fight (insta-heals, shields) - at least until they PvPlay for vigor. But done right one can easily balance that weakness with other options, skills or gear... and in PvP they are usually "all of nothing" gankers anyhow, either you take down your victim with your burst, or you cloak and hope to slink away...

Magblades on the other hand generally base their survivability on constant lifedrain. Which works fine, though is a bit... boring.

    Each as they like...

I would go for Bosmer in PVP, 20% stam recovery, 6% more stam and 10% more damage from stealth is awesome!

They also work ok in PVE
