Guild Bank History bug?

The new permission for the Guilds: View Banked Gold, seems to have bugged the rest of the bank history too.

For example. Let's say a Guild leader sets the ranks of the officers who bid on Guild Traders to be able to view the Gold and also bid on the Trader (those who bid on trader automatically can view the guild bank gold anyway).

But let's say the Guild leader removes the permission to view gold from the rest of the regular non bidding officers. Those officers now cannot see what is happening with ALL of the items in the Guild Bank. i.e They cannot see if people take items from the Guild bank and how much of it they take. So it is easy for officers who are meant to be watching out for Bank thieves to completely miss them as they simply cannot see what is happening in the Guild Bank Activity Log.

Was the new permission meant to work like this? Ideally gold and items are meant to be two different things so that the Guild can function properly. Can we get a look into this please?

I have no way of checking this myself, but I would guess that this is not intentional. You should be able to have officers/members which do not have permissions to see the amount of gold in the bank, but do have permissions to see item history.

Could a moderator please move this into the Bug Report section? That way it doesn't get lost in the General ESO Discussion category.

I was initially very happy to hear about this update because it would get rid of most bid spying. However officers not being able to see any bank history may cause us more trouble than the things we did to prevent bid spying.

I can see how some guilds can benefit from the way things are now, but if this was intentional then could we have another option to hide/show item deposit history so guild leaders who want officers to see item deposit history can allow it?

Edit: also, we tested this. An officer who has rights to withdraw items but not see or withdraw gold could not see bank history at all. Officer who has rights to see gold could see all bank history.

It is just a bit frustrating as we were looking forward to be able to manage the guilds and now this pops up :(

tbh this is a terrible solution to the bid-spying issue - just ringfence the bid amount until after switchover, don't visibly deduct it from the bank total, just make it so those with hiring/gold withdrawal permissions can't withdraw that gold set aside for the bid and so that overall bank total is not visible except by permissions - that would be a far better solution. As it is, it's a mess.

So you're saying that you have people in the guild that you trust enough to be officers, but not trust enough to see the total gold?

I don't think it'd be much of a loss to let any officer--even those who aren't in charge of bidding or finances--to see the total gold amount. Being able to restrict the balance from the random person who joined from zone chat is the important bit.

I'm full-rank officer on a couple of guilds and low-rank officer in a couple of others. I'm not fussed about not being able to see the banked gold with the new rank type if I'm not supposed to be bidding on a trader, in fact the only times I even looked at banked gold is when I had some extra gold of my own, and was deciding how much to donate.

However, not being able to see the bank deposits/withdrawals is very bad for the guild itself, since it prevents all but the highest in hierarchy from spotting potential bank thieves in time to stop them.

Hopefully this will be addressed soon - otherwise, there does not seem to be much use to this new rank.

I am finding this very annoying as a non-officer, too. I have no interest in how much gold is in the guild bank, but when I make a cash donation (required by some trade guilds) every week, I like to be able to check the bank history to make sure it has gone through. Several times in the past, as recently as last week, my donation did *not* go through. Only because I was able to check the bank history did I know this and try the transaction again. Now I can't check.

I'd like to be able to see my *own* transactions. I don't need to see anyone else's.

If item deposit/withdraw is included (I haven't checked), my only concern here is guildies mistakenly dropping items in our guild bank. This happens a fair bit. They check to see where they misplaced the item, find it in deposit history, and reach out to an officer for a retrieval.

Without that history accessible, I have a feeling we'll be answering "did I put ___ in the GB?" a whole lot more.

I second the question about having officers you don't trust enough to see your bank balance. If you suspect your officer team has a mole, deal with that. They've been viewing your balance and deposit/withdraws this whole time.

This is probably a bug that I hope gets addressed soon. The permission is all about guild bank gold and says nothing about item history.

@ZOS_GinaBruno is there a way to get a confirmation this is being looked at? Otherwise the new permission is of very low usability atm

I wonder if it is fixable easily or will we have to wait till the next update? :(
