Hide Tabard Option

I like Rep-ing my guild and wearing the tabard, but sometimes it ruins certain appearances. As someone who enjoys the cosmetic side of the game, I would like to be able to hide the tabard like you can with the helm. Thanks.
Yes, I do heartily repent. I repent I had not done more mischief; and that we did not cut the throats of them that took us, and I am extremely sorry that you aren't hanged as well as we.

Your wish is granted. Costumes and disguises both hide your guilds ugly tabard while still allowing you to display guild affiliation.

Yeah why not just take it off?

If your on PC there are outfitter mods you can create an outfit with the tabbard on or off.

A hide/unhide Tabard option would be easy to implement, though these other solutions suggested also work :)

@DMuehlhausen I believe the OP would like to still have the <Insert Guild Name Here> display on his nameplate, but have his tabard hidden. This is what is referenced below.

@Calsifer that is good to know, but I believe quest-oriented disguises take the slot in place of the tabard? Unless you are only referring to costumes and disguises in your Collections menu.

I do believe @Nordicly_Responsible is referring to hiding the tabard similar to hide helmet (where it is technically still equipped, but not visible), where we can see the armor underneath. Costumes might be a good way to do that, but they also hide your hard-earned armor and dyes.

I do really enjoy the guild's tabard that I belong to, and I try to dye my armor around our colors to match it (+12 Charisma points at guildie meetings!), but I would actually like this feature too if it still displays my guild name.
    Best,

Considering OP is in the middle of RP, the information gleamed from the tabard isn't really needed. One could say it's as immersion breaking as the tabard itself. Besides, a hide tabard setting should clearly also hide the guild name showing up in the UI.

As for those stating it would be easy to implement a hide tabard, you don't know. Clearly not employed by Zos

Heh, I would like the ability for my tabard to show over my costume. I guess letting tabards show over costumes and a 'hide' option might be the best of all worlds? For those who want their affiliation shown but the tabard not to show the hide option would be great. For those (like me) who want the tabard to show over costumes, allowing it to do so would also be great.

I'd like this. I wear a Costume, but I could see this being a nice feature.

They haven't implemented an option to hide tassets, pauldrons, poleyns, or couters. (That's hip floaties, shoulder floaties, knee floaties, and elbow floaties, if I am looking at the right resources here...)

So, no, they probably won't add a hide tabard option to enable guild tags without a guild tabard.

It would be much easier and accomplish the same thing if they simply added each guild you were in as a variable to your "titles" list.

Join a guild, you can now use that guild name as your title, no muss no fuss about clipping items and hiding items that are already equipped, etc.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

I agree with OP. I don't have costumes on all my toons, and I don't want to wear them because I like the style of my current equip. I would like to wear my guild tabard in order to show that I'm part of my guild, but the tabard ruins the appearance of my toons. Would really appreciate a "hide tabard" toggle.

idk where anyone got that I RP from. I just want to be able to have like a full set of Imperial style armor, as an example, without the tabard.

if you read what the OP wants then he/she wants to have the tabard on so it shows which guild he/she is in but wants an option to hide it from view without resorting to costumes.

taking it off is a no go since then it wont show which guild he/she is in.

I wish instead of a tabard they'd allow us to add a guild badge to our armor. Sort of like how badges work in Warframe.

Man dying of thirst in the desert: I wish I had some water.

Genie: Your wish is granted there is a brine pond right over there.

You see the problem? We all know the dying man wanted water he could drink. He did not get water he could drink. What he got was water that would make him more thirsty if he drank it.

Some people like the look of their armor. If they do not want to cover their armor with a tabard why would they want to cover their armor with a costume? The issue isn't about the tabard but about showing off the armor.

So really no... wish not granted.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."
