Trust me, it works for all situations and its fine for singletarget and areadamage. You dont need to switch anything for a really good DPS.
When you play with tanks, who kite bosses all time you are right. No good team will just run all time. Much damage is done from damagefields and good groups try to hold bosses into that..
With a bit ecperience you will learn that point
