idk if this is intended or whatever. But here goes, i wonder since i sometimes come across stuff like reagents dissapear right before i manage to pick it up.. and from what i can se i dont see anyone around there

    Yes, I've seen nodes disappearing in front of me many times, it's freaking annoying and I don't know what causes it.
    I've seen someone talking in chat about underground bots as the reason why those nodes suddenly disappear, I never had the time or the will to research in forum to find something about, but now that you brought it up, I would be interested as well to know what that is.

    If im not mistaken the nodes are tied to the other channels players are on so sometimes a player grabs the node in another channel

    That's always been my theory, too. The game phases people into different instances/phases within the server to keep it from being overcrowded. When nodes disappear like this, I assume that someone within a different instance/phase of the server picked the item after it had loaded in my instance/phase, and me trying to activate it forced the node to "update" its status in my instance/phase.

    About nodes shared among instances, that would explain why there was a Nirnroot in Deshan I was unable to pick, a message "this item is already in use" or something like that appeared every time, in that case another player, afk, had the harvest window open I could guess.

    if I were to guess... sometimes people don't fully loot the nodes, so they take a few minutes to despawn before they can respawn as a full node. so you are just unlucky to have gotten to it JUST as it was disappearing... finally.

    You're gathering in a phased area border. I've had that happen with fishing nodes, treasure chests and resource nodes. I see a node, run up to gather and it would disappear. I'd take a few steps back and it would appear again. (out of range to interact). Annoying as hell...

    There is a chest on the east side of Shadowfen that disappears when I approach it. If I back off it reappears, then i approach it, it disappears. There are also two gators that guard it and they disappear as well. I have been able to loot it once.
    Odd bug i guess.

    Being unable to collect your hireling mails because your inbox was full of adds for goldselling sites was far less amusing.

    No, not unless you're posting from 2014 somehow. At some point in the first six months, ZOS came down hard on those bots. I haven't seen a teleporting bot in years.

    No, I wasn't here in 2014 to see all that magic:) and was unaware, that's why.

    At any rate, giving insightful to anyone! Come people with your own ideas of why that happens. We have so far:
    - shared nodes among instances
    - underground bots (obsolete)
    - respawn time of partially harvested nodes
    - problematic gathering in area borders

    So we can confirm this is another instance/ different zone?
