DW Rapid Strikes is considered a Melee Attack by Vipers Sting.

It procs off of Flurry (which can open a whole can of worms if it is considered a Melee attack)

Old (Concerning the implications of it being a Melee Attack):

Recently hit the ever loving shite outta a test dummy with only Rapid Strikes. Had skoria on (an 8% proc chance on DoT for comparison) and two axes (16% bleed chance). This is the results of 5 separate tests:

So it seems that the Twin Blade and Blunt Passive is still 'hand-crafted' code, and hasn't yet been updated. That or Rapid Strikes is bugged.

Silly question, could the passive not work on DOTs, and is flurry and morphs acting as a dot?

No idea. But it will proc Viper, which is why I've raised the question. It also procs your main hand enchantment (so it must be considered some kind of attack, Twins slashes bleed and Rend will not proc your enchantments).

Flurry does act as a DoT, and a Channel.

Another interesting thing:

Rend is considered to be a melee attack by Viper's Sting, but not by weapon enchantments. (Casting Rend will not proc a weapon enchantment, but it will proc Viper's Sting)

I read somewhere, geeze, maybe a year ago, that it was considered a channeled attack. I'll try to figure out where I got the info from.

flurry is a channeled melee attack. I don't see the bug here. Or am I missing something?

It is a melee attack. You're confusing melee with direct damage. Melee is anything under 8m radius I believe. Doen't matter if it's direct damage, or a channel. So flurry should proc it.
