Can't Recall to Owned House from Wayshrine (not Transitus) at Eastern Elsweyr Gate

I was able to recall to the Vulkhel Guard Wayshrine from this Wayshrine (thank goodness, or you could never leave Cyrodiil once there!), but when I tried to recall to my Ald Velothi Harbor House, I got the message, "You cannot recall to wayshrines while in Cyrodiil." I tried several times to make sure I was actually interacting with the shrine and not just standing close to it while trying to recall, but the result didn't change. I purchased the house furnished from the Crown Store several days ago while on a different character if that makes a difference. Anyway, if it's intended that you can't recall to a home from the gate wayshrines, the error message you get needs to say that you can't recall to a home from Cyrodiil, not that you can't recall to a wayshrine. I'm hoping though that this "feature" is not intended.

Having read the guidelines after making my post: This occurred on PC NA in the Sotha Sil campaign. The character who received the message was Valynde. The character on whom I purchased the house was Lindiira (also an AD character). I own the Morrowind chapter.

I've experienced the same thing. I think you just need to travel to any wayshine outside of cyrodiil, then you should be able to travel to your house either via a wayshrine or your Collections menu.

there arent actuallty wayshrines in any of the homes

we can however recall to any home for free from any location outside of cyrodil

which does mean that you have to travel to a random wayshrine before traveling to your home

i think its rediculous myself and wayshrines really need to be added to housing

I've been saying since homestead dropped that (even if you have to buy it either with gold or - as much as I'd hate it - with crowns) There should be wayshrines available for housing, lime the carriage drivers you could hire in hearthfire for Skyrim.

Whether or not travelling to a home counts as travelling to a wayshrine, the error message I received was inappropriate. If it had said, "You cannot recall to a player home while in Cyrodiil," I'd have been disappointed, but I wouldn't consider it a bug. Telling someone attempting to use a gate wayshrine that "You cannot recall to wayshrines while in Cyrodiil," is just wrong. I'd rather they fix it by making player homes function as wayshrines, but changing the error message would also solve the immediate problem.

Thanks all for your thoughts--and for confirming that it's how the system currently functions and not a weirdness that affects red-haired AD sorcs on alternate Fridays.

You NEVER have been allowed to port out of Cyrodiil, except via the wayshrines at your home base. Why would they let you port to a house outside it?

Cyro is a closed zone, with 6 doors out, ONLY.

Yes, and I was attempting to use the wayshrine at the Eastern Elsweyr gate, i.e. one of the six doors. My post was not about being able to port to a home from a random spot in Cyrodiil. I'd have thought my thread title offered a hint.
