I spent 60k on a bunch of these because Mathiisen Manor is very dark and these lanterns provide an appealing amount of light. As of today's patch, they now provide virtually no light. I need an alternative, I prefer hanging lights but I don't have the rakeipa to test all the different lights I can make. Is there any kind of lighting available that's actually worth the mats? It sucks that I'm out 60k on items that are literally useless now, and I'm about to be out all the mats and more gold buying the essence runes.... but if I want actual light I don't really have a choice.

    Did u get these lanterns while they were glitches?


    When they first dropped they glowed a dim red.

    Then they were broken and were fire blazing death sun bright.

    Now they are fixed and glow a red light again.

    My friend freaked when they went bright as she decorated a torture chamber and liked the ambience. Now she is so relieved they are back down to a glow.

    So kinda the very opposite of how she felt is what happened to u.

    Sad note for u is they won't ever be bright again. Unless they glitch out in a future patch

    I love the Daedric Braziers. Good flame animation and great lighting.

    I did get them when they were glitches, I wasn't even aware until this patch that they ever weren't bright. I only bought them because I told a friend I was looking for a light that actually provided light, not the unreasonably dim glow of every light I've made, and she told me to get those. Now I'm out 60k and the lighting in my house is back to being awful.

    The red light provides no light which is literally the only reason I purchased them.

    I'm not on PC and unfortunately I really wanted hanging lights. Thank you for being the one that actually provided an alternative (and I do know the pattern for those) but I'm going to spend some time looking for a worthwhile hanging light

    Some of the larger hanging chandeliers (not the high elf one because if I recall it has more of a bluish-coloured light) are nice and give quite a bit of area light. Pair with the occasional wall sconce and its a nice ambiance :smile:
