I'm sure many would pay extra for it too, just like in home storage. We shall see what the nine's have in store.

I'd be happy just to have my pets and mounts MOVE when I'm home. My jackal is in the yard, as are my two horses. Always in the same place, idling... Let the poor things walk around.

So much this. Your pets in EQ2 actually wandered around your home. Why can't they do so in this supposedly more advanced game?

I was thinking about this earlier today actually. Now, I am not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination. But I was wondering about either alts or NPC's roaming around player housing, and I wasn't sure if that would be difficult given that everyone designs their homes differently, we wouldn't want them to be hindered by a table if they could walk around a bit for example. I would much rather them move around and interact with the environment than be still and lifeless like a table or a chair. If they can't move around a bit, I'm not sure how happy I would be with the feature.

Depends how picky with the feature. It would be easy to code it so you need to <place> the alt, like any pet or horse or npc. When loading into the home, the alt gets roaming pathfinding like any mob in the entire game.

I've wanted this soo badly. I've even made all my alts their own bedrooms. I just want them to "exist" somewhere without me playing them.

Eh, people have already been asking for this since housing was tested on PTS. Not necessarily for role playing purposes, but to be able to trade inventory without logging off.

It would be very simple indeed, you could just use the same script as you use for pets. If you wanted some extra positions or control over each limb that would be a little bit more tricky but no stretch of rescources for ZOS, realistically if ZOS put their mind to to it it could be done in a few days
Before judging a man walk a mile in his shoes.
    After that who cares?
They're a mile away and you've got their shoes.
