Why lock the house motifs behind thieving when half of vivec and balmora are still locked? rant

Edit:doors are still locked in vivec and balmora... and furnishing drop rates are still bad

Original suggestion: There is no reason to go back to morrowind's quest hubs after you are done questing there. The only reason to go back to morrowind now is for daily quests for the ashlander and morag tong motifs and that's all. Please add daily quests in sandrith mora for telvanni motifs, balmora for redoran motifs, and hlaalu motif quests in seyda neen.

How to incentivize thieving in morrowind:
It is good that zos gives incentive to thieving but this is not the way to go with it. Increase the drop rates of furniture plans in cities and unlock all the locked doors that are locked in cities. Vivec should have an increased drop for indoril furniture, Seyda neen for hlaalu, balmora for redoran and sandrith mora for telvanni furniture. Non dunmer furniture shouldn't drop in vvardenfell too frequently to undilute the loot tables. Thieving should drop helms along with all weapon motifs (staves, bows, swords, axes, shields, belts and boot motifs so 7 motifs are from thieving and 7 are from daily quests, so motif hunters have a easier time with two activities to choose from to find motifs easier.

Three New Motifs
"The Hlaalu, Redoran, and Telvanni Motifs are now available in Vvardenfell! These three styles and their associated style items can be found by stealing from citizens of Vvardenfell - picking their pockets, stealing from their safe boxes, and looting Thieves Troves left behind by fellow members of the Thieves Guild."     This is a very bad idea imo. (just to clarify - I mean the pickpocket-exclusive motifs ^^, I really hope ZOS would change that)
    It just pits the players against each other (since every npc can only carry up to 3 items and they have a respawn timer), and cospses everywhere dont really add any immersion.

    Agreed, but the way thieving is set up in vvardenfell is horrible, too many locked doors and only 7/14 pages should be obtained from thieving as for an expansion morrowind lacks dailys and 7 of the pages left should be available through dailys

    I support this! After all, looting n'wah motifs in Dunmer tombs and cities doesnt make any sense.

    I was thinking. They want us to theive but most of the cities are all locked up beyond reason. Will they open them up at least? Agree though open up these damn doors and add in dailies for the appropriate factions.

    A lot of people don't like theiving and killing. We already had thieves guild, brotherhood, legerdemaine and some more thieving in morrowind. The thieving and trespassing is getting old. I say this and I use my nb for this all the time. No need to lock motifs around it just like you did the BA motif from just chests. Can you come up with something more original Zos, or are you running out of ideas?

    you know why its a bad idea? i can clear every npc in vivec by myself b4 the first cleared is respawned. i can steal steal kill every npc in the largest and only decent sized city of the dlc. Now lets add 300 ppl all trying to get them at once and see how fun that is

    I wish they were quest related - I don't disagree with pickpocketing NPCs for stuff, but as has already been pointed out, this will just result in lots of assassinated NPCs, which will make it horrible to try to gain these motifs.

    The bit the OP didn't read or possibly cover is that the guards and citizens of Vvardenfell are on alert now that criminals are on the loose. The guards got their radar turned up, and the citizens are much harder to pickpocket or kill.

    Expect gold guards chasing and killing players even going into the city.....

    Khajiit may be slightly biased in this regard yes.

    However it is nice to have a way of obtaining interesting and occasionally valuable things that does not involve a dungeon or a trial or the requirement for much killing at all.

    This one she hopes the rates of obtaining such items could be upped a little though yes. It takes time to successfully clean a pocket and when others may be doing the same, and sometimes unintentionally disrupting your work, it may sometimes feel a little like a hopeless task.

    Also the killing of the subject when the pockets they are empty. This is helpful to yourself yes but not so helpful to others around who may not yet have cleaned the relevant pocket completely - please do consider this.

    You can learn recipes presently without first laundering them. This one she expects this will be the same with motifs and laundering to be an issue only if you wish to sell on the item.

    Thing is, this type of farming is pitting players against each other and encourages scummy behavior. Just like with the chests, people just dont care about looting them, they open them and leave. Or steal them from someone who is already fightng mobs that were guarding the chest.
    Farming world boss quests can be a mess, but at least in encourages cooperation and sharing. This... Well, if you already tried to farm Buyoant motif, you know what kind of behavior it encourages. People are very salty, they'd steal chest, not fully loot them, theyd call you names if they see youre also farming, etc.

    I agree with you, I don't know how many times I found a chest already opened with one item left and also one time at band camp I was fighting so I can grab the chest and someone runs up and takes it. Another time someone was fighting a train of mobs, I'm there for a quest and they tell me to gtfo cause they were there first.

    No, the person remains an "empty" container. I've seen it happen when 2 people were pickpocketing the same NPC, multiple times, as recently as last night.

    Please DO kill after empty. NPC will respawn full much faster.

    Also, this request is a little hypocritical coming from Santie, who has always gotten defensive in the "please don't leave trash in nodes and chests" threads, insisting she will never take what she doesn't want. :eyeroll:

    No, the person remains an "empty" container. I've seen it happen when 2 people were pickpocketing the same NPC, multiple times, as recently as last night.

    Please DO kill after empty. NPC will respawn full much faster.

    Also, this request is a little hypocritical coming from Santie, who has always gotten defensive in the "please don't leave trash in nodes and chests" threads, insisting she will never take what she doesn't want. :eyeroll:

    Yah santie is wrong on this one. If I pick a pocket on a npc once and another comes and kills the npc, I'll be able to loot the other two items off the corpse and then move on

    I agree, we shouldn't be forced to steal, I hate the fact this game wants everyone to be a thief. What happened to it being a MMORPG? Instead of a MMOMSG (Massive multiplayer Online Murder Steal Game)

    ZOS is just trying to increase the crime rate so the Morrowind real estate gets devalued and then a "developer" can go in, foreclose/buy on the cheap, demolish, and build massive scab condos with Tribunal grants. The zoning board has been bought off to ignore the fact that they are constructed of flesh and not traditional fungus.

    Stealing is boring to me so I won't be getting any of these motifs until they sell reasonable in traders or some event gives them away for free.

    I agree. I completed Morrowind on my law abiding sorceress, but was forced to B&E for several main quests. I wouldn't have minded on my Nightblade.
