Because people in the free trial of ESO+ will only receive the crater IF they actually subscribe after the trial period.
So they probably just made it so the system will record if you log and then after the event is over just checks if you have a paid subscription active to send the crates for everyone.

I find it to be bad and a waste of money to subscribe for ESO+, especially since that the non-DLC related prices on the crown store is completely ripping you off (personally am regretting buying crowns for mere items right now, that's my stupid fault), and ESO+ isn't worth paying for since you're paying more for really nothing at all except for convenience things...
So, I am really annoyed at this entire event as I think it is a plan to get people addicted to the convenience of having ESO+...

As an ESO+ subscriber (on two accounts mind you), to me I absolutely love it and recommend it to anyone playing be they veterans or new to the game. The benefits (to me, my opinion) are well worth the monthly subscription. Heck $30 is a fill up at the gas station to me...to me a month's worth of entertainment convenience is worth it.

I would imagine that they don't have any tool currently built to just automatically send the crates to your account based on the requirement to earn them.
Guessing someone is going to have to parse login logs, thus the delay in sending.
Dual targeting, first is to get more to use eso+, remember the inventory mini game, if not stuck after the 5 days you pay for one month to get the crates and now its very hard to back out.Sheezabeast wrote: »In retrospect, I guess I'm just not their target demographic for this event. I'm a long time subber, this feels more aimed to excite new people about the crown store I suppose. I am not complaining about this, please don't misunderstand.
