Kicking a 2h user in vet dungeon

Tip - if you want to be a 2H pve build only way to go is stamplar. Period.
One of the reasons is because stamplars have a spam aoe abiity that does good damage.
The reason why 2H sucks in pve is not because single target damage i believe they are ok there . But what are you gonna do when you walk into a trash/mobs fight?
Rally? Crit rush? Executioner? Wrecking blow?
Assuming you have bow on back bar which you should this would he a good rotation to go in with.
Cal trops - endless hail on back bar.
Then switch to dw and apply deadly cloak rearming trap and steel tornado for the aoe spam unless you are stamplar you can replace that with jabs i guess.
On a 2h you would do the cal trops endless hail then once you switch to 2h theres no good aoes.
im sure a 2h can do good dps on single target although still not good as dw so why do people use 2h in pve?
2h is great in pvp best imo but thats where it should stay.
The heavy splash damage from 2h just isnt enough no matter what you are packing lol.
Point of all this is to encourage people to drop the 2h in pve.
Play how you want no problem
just remember others can play how they want to and if they dont like your dps BUH BYE LOL

✭✭✭✭✭One competent DPS is all you need to clear most vet dungeons. There are some pledge days where I'm pulling 70-80% of team DPS and we still clear the dungeon with ease. You aren't failing because of the player using a 2H weapon. You're failing because you suck.
And you can deal decent DPS with a 2H weapon. It isn't BiS, but it doesn't need to be.
Vet DLC dungeons are a different story and can't be carried. But you shouldn't be PUGing those anyway.Edited by MLGProPlayer on June 23, 2017 10:47PM -

✭I use Caltrops and weave Brawler with heavy attacks on large mob packs, my addon shows me I'm usually doing 40-60% of the group's total damage. But yeah I guess I'll just delete my Nightblade and switch to a Templar now...Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important. -

Nonsense.
Nightblades have Surprise Attack as a spammable and can use Power Extraction instead of 'nado.
DKs can just heavy attack and get 30k+ crits.
With 2H you might sacrifice 2-4k single-target DPS with a good build but you'll have better cleave. Its not a huge difference anymore and certainly doesn't matter in dungeons.Edited by LiquidPony on June 23, 2017 11:08PM -

I was going to embed this, but the forums don't seem to like .gifv.
But, the other morph is Carve. It used to be much better, back when we had dynamic ultimate gain, but even so, it's a pretty solid option if you're running an ultimate heavy build. For a NB, Rally is really nice to have. It's not the only way to gain major brutality, but you can trigger it in stealth.

✭✭✭If you auto kick upon seeing weapon choice then you are almost doing the guy a favor, not having to group with someone like that. Don't make assumptions, and don't wave your OPINION's around like they are facts, cause those opinions are not facts and something like a stamsorc, as an example has great potential with 2 Hander in both Single target and AoE, so does DK's too and Wardens and as one of the guys said earlier in the thread is NB was doing just fine, and oh look we have all the classes present. Good players makes or breaks the group, not their weapon choice in combination with their class. Stop auto kicking people based on assumptions. -
leeshi✭✭If you did endless hail, caltrops, switch to 2h, brawler, and then just spam executioner your aoe dps from splash and the rest would be absolutely fine.
You may be off a bit from steel tornado but well within acceptable dps range. Especially for a pug which is the only place you're in danger of being kicked. -

Glad someone brought this up, DW stamblades who don't want to burn up power pots on daily pledges use Power Extraction instead of steelnado anyway. A stamblade equipped with 2-h and a high weapon damage build combined with power extraction, brawler, reverse slice and a maelstrom bow gets far more AOE dps than any dual wield build while staying close to no-potion DW single target DPS.
