All this bitching about Crown Crates

They are extra little pretendy-fun-time items that have no impact on the game. Don't like them, don't buy them and go about your way. Jesus.

I never understood this whine fest either...same thing happens in SWTOR all the time. If you don't like the crates, don't buy em, it's that simple.

Then again, you have people bitching non stop about a 15 dollar a month sub fee too, which makes no sense to me at all.

Or... It's about what this tells us about the way ZOS is willing to treat their players, and how much they're willing to let marketing design the game for them.

Bitching about bitching, what a bitchy ***. :'(

You can complain about the decrease in value from the crates and quality of the items within while still wanting the extra little pretendy-fun-time items. They're not mutually exclusive.

You are right. This is ok. It is not pay to win just a cash-grab styled game, nothing more in it, just cosmetics and comfort.

If you don't like and bother take action to make it less bother
    - for example no thank you addon hide announcement
    - disable keybind

I got used to it, I don't care and I don't even buy it.

Very ignorant comment on many levels
    A) if you dont care why care about other peoples complaints?
    B) its a part of the game and you pay money for it pf course you have the rigjht to complain and should do so to improve the service for all other customers - if no one ever complains nothing will ever improve
    C) reading through all the nix hound topics it seems there might be an unintended bug with the drop rates - of course people should point out bugs so they can be corrected

Try not to show your bias and maybe people will take you seriously.

Eh, what bias? People are mainly complaining about the decrease in value and the skewing of the tiers, along with the exclusive mounts. I'm just saying you can be upset about something that you wanted because it wasn't presented on agreeable terms for you without necessarily being a whiner. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

the problem is the offer mounts that cannot be acquired by playing the game, Mounts are probably more desired by players of the game because gear has very little impact on being able to do all the content in the game. Mounts and skins should be able to be acquired by the people who actually play the whole game. Or as a one time buy , this was just another shady business practice Western MMOs picked up from garbage Asian companies where gambling is a big part of their social culture. Even completely immoral companies like EA didnt take it that far , they at least put mounts in as drops from last bosses in their four man content. then again ZOS made their four man content easier then some of the overland content so i can see why they went this route. they didnt wanna give these things to the barbie doll churn community that dumps tons of cash into a system designed to rip them off.

"it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days." - Matt Firor

There is a valid reason for people to be upset: a single pet is heavily weighted and constitutes around 50% of people's drops. Aside from your own personal opinion about crates, there is a legitimate problem that needs to be addressed.

Like, for example, yours. You are not presenting a valid argument, since you didn't address any point raised by the community who are against this kind of scheme.

I'm not arguing anything though, just stating a fact that an argument isn't the same as a valid argument. There is absolutely nothing to argue about that.

So you start the game and you decide to purchase 5500 Crowns for $40.00 bucks. You opt to buy a Crate package which is basically pot luck. You expect to use the items in the package immediately - but wait - you have to clear out some inventory slots before you can even access your new purchase for each new crate you open. If you are new to the game, you also have to figure out how to use some of the items you just purchased. I can see where some people might feel ripped-off.

Internet meet @Voxicity - he feels there is nothing to argue about in that fairly uncontroversial statement... Internet do your thing!

And I'll start - your statement itself was fine but because of where and how you posted it in the context of a reply to another post you could justly be assumed to be contending that the person to whom you were replying had no valid argument and thus opened the door to them, quite fairly, challenging not your statement but the context and positioning of it - after all if you had not meant to be challenging that poster then why quote them?

If the crates themselfs would be consistant with past seasons there would be so much. Most of the complaining is about how rigged its starting to look compared to the past. Just because its asthetic doesnt mean it doesnt impact the game at all. Bad buisness practice can really stain a games rep.
