Every ESO server is in the US (correct me if I'm wrong @ZOS_GinaBruno ), even in the EU where I live with a fiberglass internet-connection, my ping is usally around 100, while a speedtest says I should be around 10 - 15. So it not only you in australia, its all around the globe.
