Would Elf Bane Increase the Duration of Grothdarr?

It should, but knowing the slightest bit about how the developers program this game, should tell you that everything is tacked on with mom's spaghetti code and there's no way they would take the time ( when adding grothdar to the game) to check to see if it would apply to legacy sets. This is called recursion testing and ZOS doesn't do it. Because its more fun to add more marketers to your development team than actual programmers.

Here's the real brain twister though, Does Elf bane add seconds to detro ult?

I could be wrong, but I do not believe that proc sets' procs are "abilities."

Welcome to the fun of theorycrafting in this game. You come up for an amazing idea for a build, a great synergy between sets, then you realize that the game never follows its own rules, and your idea wont work.

Or you find, for some inexplicable reason, that the set piece you want just doesn't drop. I wanted to run a briarheart build then i realized that briarheart weapons don't drop in sharpened. So what do you do? Create a forum post? If you do a quick search, you will find about 10 forums posts complaining about this. Dev team does nothing.

One Tamriel was supposed to get all sets dropping in all traits but some wrothgar sets are the exception because the dev team made a mistake (again) and didn't care to correct it (again). This happens over and over till you just lose interest and go play another game where the development team actually cares the slightest bit about quality and consistency.

This team doesn't. Bugs persist for literal YEARS and there exists no reliable method to get the development team to address a problem,

• YES Elf Bane should extend grothdar.
• YES Briarheart should drop in sharpened
• YES willows path should increase the regen of drinks and other buffs

but NO, the development team just doesn't care about their product at the level detail needed for theorycrafting. The small details that mean the world to us, mean next to nothing to them. It took me three years to learn this, should have moved on sooner.

Play a different game, you will be surprised when you find a developer that enjoys making games, not a company created for the sole purpose of exploiting the elder scrolls franchise.

Grothdar is not an ability so it stands to reason it's effect would not be extended.

Totally yeah. Though with all the visual effects added onto it procs sets look so much like abilities to me. And if they ever were to scale to wep/spell damage they'd most certainly become even closer to being abilities. Could make gameplay a bit more interesting, and would be the way to allow players to have additional "abilities" on top of the 5 skill limit restriction, orr act as independent ability morphs.

Even if procs scaled to stats grothdar is still not an ability. I would expect the term ability would be a skill we use from a skill line.

Fair enough, though it'd make for more interesting set interactions if there's the possibility of '7-set' bonuses or '10-set' bonuses by allowing some set bonuses to interact with one another.

This set is not as interesting because duration doesn't matter in a fast paced combat enviroment.

True, for fast combat, but for DK's it'll effectively broaden the time window of their rotations, causing less resource consumption, not to mention a 2 second increase to Fiery rage is effectively a 28% damage increase. While standard of might will be increased by 2 seconds, it isn't nearly that effective on a skill that lasts 17 seconds though. (11.7% damage increase).

It shouldn't be. Grothdarr isn't an ability.You might want to read Elf bane's tooltip again.

Well, the burning status effect isn't an ability, but it's increased by 2 seconds via the Elf Bane Set.
