If you want to take it slow and do the quest or whatever there's this handy thing called text chat you can use to let other people know before you kick them for no reason. Or you can just make assumptions based on angry forums posts and prior experiences that all players are malicious in their intent to ruin other player's gameplay, that's cool too I guess.

Text chat works both ways. The default reason to run the normal difficulty dungeons is for the skill point quest. Whenever you run them you should assume, absent any chat, that this is what the others are there to do.

If you want to do something different there, it's you who needs to bring it up not the other way around.

If I want to do something different than wait around for tweedledee and tweedledum to talk to NPCs? No thanks.

I have no problem waiting if they say something but as soon as I load into a normal dungeon whatever my level be, I'm taking off.

Did you at least ask the player to slow down?

I'll admit in a normal dungeon I can get ahead of myself (if I'm the DPS) since everything is so easy, and you don't have to kill everything that just slows you down.

Why ask someone who ignores you and the rest of the group?

Seriously, too many people are NOT kicked when they behave like antisocial ***. The only thing better than instantly kicking them is kicking them just before fighting the last boss. o:)

Idk... If I was going for the skill point I wouldn't waste my time sitting in a queue. I thought the main reason people queue up for normal dungeons was for the big XP bonus for the random daily dungeon.

Um...did you at least try to ask him to slow down prior to kicking?=x

I mean, it's not really a nice thing to run off ahead of everyone else without asking AND leave mobs behind, but that kind of goes both ways. His idea of a dungeon was evidently a silent speedrun, perhaps he'd farmed it 123456 times before. Your idea was a slow exploration/skillpoint run. Both are viable. Honestly, 9/10 times I pug a normal all I see is high cps farming gear/sometimes their alts speedrunning it at max speed for the skillpoints(that said, if asked to wait I will, even if you want to listen to the full dialogue and whatnot) so I'd say your "default" assumptions are rather incorrect. At this point, at least for certain dungeons, the "default" honestly seems gear farming. Which...DC1? A sorc farming Netch's perhaps?

If none of you sad anything whatsoever - he just silently ran off and you just silently kicked him, then I wouldn't say any of you were really in the right. Because all of you failed the teamwork part of the group, your side just happened to have more people to it. Next time when you end up with 3 people there just to farm gear anthey'll possibly silently kick you for hanging behind and then come make a thread about how annoying lowbies hanging behind are and how good a run goes when they get kicked. It's a vicious circle that's not really benefiting the community :/

If you did however try to talk to him and he flatout ignored you, well that's on him.

God I hate it when I pug, and none of the group members seem to respond in group chat... and there is always a guy who has no patience. Can you be more boring?! Now I only do dungeon runs with Friends and guildies atleast we have a laugh when we all die...

Just ran another dungeon (Wayrest 1 this time) with a CP 1200 plus tank. One of the low level players said he was doing the quest and asked if that was OK. This high CP guy was very nice and said "Of course. that's always OK."

It did make me wonder though what PUGs that guys who asked if it was OK has run with before that he felt he had to be semi-apologetic about doing the dungeon the way it's intended :)

    Huh?

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The skill point can only be acquired once.

Much more common reasons for running normal dungeons: pledges and the huge XP gain from running a daily random.

You forget the number one reason for running a dungeon...grinding some piece of gear for the 300th time looking for that specific trait on a weapon.

I usually don't kick people from groups by initiating a vote. I simply try to communicate to them and if they refuse to listen and follow and they just fail a boss repeatedly I just leave since there's no point of me wasting my time with such idiots.
