Just had a beautiful thing happen in a PUG

I'm leveling a new alt - a stamsorc so I just queued for a random at level 29 and got Darkshade 1 with a CP320, a CP 80 healer and another DPS level 25.

The CP320 guy, who I later noticed has queued as all 3 roles, without saying a word and before anyone else was even ready just took off through several rooms worth of trash, not even bothering to taunt and proceeded to solo the first boss. The rest of us, of course, had to deal with all the garbage he left behind especially since the other DPS couldn't run through them without almost dying.

So I started a kick vote on superman and it passed... loved it! Nothing like some silent behavior modification first thing in the morning :)

Oh, yeah, we 3-manned the rest of it just fine.

I have a toon that I occasionally queue as all 3 roles. The exception being, that I can fill whatever role I need to fill with him(though to heal I actually need to swap backbar weapon and skills). I call it my farming tank...I use it for farming gear in anything less that vet DLC dungeons. That being said, I dont leave mobs alive behind me...I dont taunt much except dangerous things...I use dmg output to hold aggro without needing to...of course I will taunt something if it aggros on someone else, but mob clearing for the most part doesnt require very many taunts if the tank puts out enough dmg to aggro mobs that way. There is no problem with queing as multiple roles if and ONLY if you can fill any of the roles you queue for.

I only que as two roles, and that is if I have Healing Leveled up and a staff on hand. Tanking is more gear related than swapping a staff. I did learn to have my healing bar ready for Randoms as folks tend to rush through those as quick as possible. Although, Sunday Morning I got in with a PUG from the group finder that had no problems standing around letting others listen to the dialogs. Well, there were two of us who had done the dungeon and two others that probably had not.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yeah I know. I'm CP630 when I'm not leveling alts and I have a couple of characters (a templar and a sorc) who can do the same with enough spare gear and skills to do it.

But I never just go off on my own in a normal dungeon with a mix of players of different levels without saying a word - trying to impose a speed run on them. That's just being selfish and anti-social.

Did you at least ask the player to slow down?

I'll admit in a normal dungeon I can get ahead of myself (if I'm the DPS) since everything is so easy, and you don't have to kill everything that just slows you down.

I had similar experience, except the high CP guy simply left on his own after the first boss. I guess its a new habit of farming some item from him or something. Would royally screw up the group if the other 3 were true newbies.

I actually queue with PuGs for some normal dungeons and tick all 3 boxes when I'm on my Templar. Just farmed CoH 1&2 over the week-end for a Lich resto staff to go on my sorc for PvP. I saw that about 70% of the times I'm assigned as tank, and the rest of the time as healer; almost never as DD. But I end up doing all 3: I slot a HoT, pull 50-70% of the group DPS and enemies stick to me because Templar rotation is mostly DoTs and channels and those work well to hold aggro even without a specialised skill. I don't skip adds but do run trough several rooms to pull trash in one and eye of the storm all of them for efficient DPS and complete ult refund.

So you are bragging about being an ***? Maybe had no idea that you would mind a speed run. So you just kick him without saying anything. I'm sorry, but maybe next time simply just ask him to take it easy.

In fact I think I'm going to start kicking everyone who joins a Vet dungeon who is under cp160 without saying anything for now on. Why not. smh

Speed run in normal PUGs you get through the groupfinder with a mix of low level players? You must be real gud.

Yeah, dude was a ***. That's fine. If you had tried to talk to him and he told you to go screw yourself then I'd just...be the same reaction as I am now, really seems like your overly proud of having kicked a dude you disapproved of.

Have to agree. Just talk to the guy.

I so hate also those selfish I-Can-Do-Everything-Handymans.... specialy when most dungeons i can solo them on most of my toons, but when i pug it's because i wanna do group stuff, not trying to impress anyone with my soling ability, i do it alone when i want this. :) When i pug with friends and we get on of those, we don't kick him, we simply tell ourselves on Discord, bah *** it, and one by one we leave group :)

Just don't make people waste their times, if you can solo it, do it, don't queue and make people waste their time, lots of us can solo ***, but we don't since we don't have the need to proove anything. ;)

When i tank and i am comfortable with the dungeon i always ask the group in advance if they are okay with some crazy speed runs just so they can let me know how comfortable they feel about it.

Just ran another dungeon (Wayrest 1 this time) with a CP 1200 plus tank. One of the low level players said he was doing the quest and asked if that was OK. This high CP guy was very nice and said "Of course. that's always OK."

It did make me wonder though what PUGs that guys who asked if it was OK has run with before that he felt he had to be semi-apologetic about doing the dungeon the way it's intended :)

My reaction to reading this was "way to bring everyone down to the lowest common denominator".

I've had dungeon runs like this. Where one player obviously knows all the ins and outs and did this dungeon so many times they could do it blindfolded, holding the controller with their feet, and still perform better than an average ESO player. You know what we did in such cases? Did our best to keep up and after the final boss said "thanks for the carry!"

I understand some people enjoy playing the game at a glacial pace. Had a few runs like that also. Where a guy would drop the blood altar before each fight, stealth up to target on each pull, etc. It's fine, but it needlessly turned a 10 min run into 25 min one. For absolutely no reason, if you are in results-oriented frame of mind.

I also don't know why some folks seem to think that just doing the dungeon we all signed up for, quickly and efficiently, is somehow rude. If anything, the player afforded you all a ton of respect by assuming you know what you're doing and can at least keep up, never mind actually pull your own weight instead of being a dead weight he'd have to carry. How was he to know that the 3 of you guys can't even deal with trash, or that you wouldn't appreciate being afforded a chance to get the fat loot even though you maybe wouldn't have the chops to beat the bosses? I base that on you guys struggling with trash. Because quite a few PUGs can't hack the harder dungeons even on normal.

In the end, I feel the guy was in a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario. He doesn't rush, and a 10 min run turns into 30 min run, he's better off just leaving there and then and re-queuing on that char 15 mins later. He'd still save 5 mins. And if he rushes and you kick him? He'd still save time comparing to sticking around, even eating a full 15 min timer. Though I don't feel particularly sorry for him either, a player like that probably immediately hopped on another alt, got an instant queue popup because he queued as tank/healer, and probably finished that dungeon run before you guys even dawned the second boss. So I'm not sure who was the loser and who was the winner in this exchange.

Also, you guys possibly missed a huge learning opportunity. Guides and videos are fine, but even after 6 months of steady play I still on occasion learn better places to tank certain bosses, better ways to deal with certain mechanics, etc.

If you want to take it slow and do the quest or whatever there's this handy thing called text chat you can use to let other people know before you kick them for no reason. Or you can just make assumptions based on angry forums posts and prior experiences that all players are malicious in their intent to ruin other player's gameplay, that's cool too I guess.

I queue as tank all the time on my 630 stam Dps when I'm farming gear and proceed to speed solo the dungeon.

I'll begin each one by stating "hai group I noob" and end with "bai group I noob".

9 times out of 10 I get a complimentary whisper at the end usually along the lines of "thank you!" Or "please don't leave us noob ur the best PUG"

Most people appear to be appreciative of the experience of me doing this as opposed to what they're used to in the hot mess of ass that is the dungeon finder: which I assume is usually 4 lvl 10 wardens in medium armor queuing as all roles and wiping constantly in lvl 1 norm dungeons for hours after a long wait in Zo$'s buggy queue.

Cool story OP but ur not gonna stop this noob from conducting on the pain train. Chop Choo!

    Bai forums I noob ;)

Text chat works both ways. The default reason to run the normal difficulty dungeons is for the skill point quest. Whenever you run them you should assume, absent any chat, that this is what the others are there to do.

If you want to do something different there, it's you who needs to bring it up not the other way around.

The default reason some people do them is for the skill points. The default reason other people do them is because they are easy and can be rushed through. That is why there is chat. So you can talk. It isn't the default reason just because it is why you do it.
