Normal vs Veteran Trials?

Hello ESO community.

I have been doing veteran dungeons for a while now and was looking into trials. I assumed trials gave gold gear but I may be wrong? Someone told me normal trials gives blue gear, if thats the case what is the point of normal trials?

And the next question, I heard vet trials only gives purple gear? Again, whats the point?

I am genuinely curious as I was really wanting to experience trials but I am the kind of guy who needs a carrot.

The point of normal trials, for most people is to farm gear. You know you can improve gear quality from blue to gold, right?

You get your armor pieces from normal trials and the jewelery you do vet for

You're correct, normal drops blue and vet drops purple. There's nowhere that drops gold regularly...you have to improve your armor yourself, and deal with purple jewelry.

Vet Trials, the weekly coffer you can get from them, and the weekly leaderboard coffer, all can give purple jewelry and all have a chance to give gold jewelry. Normal trials only drop blue equipment.

If you're looking for armor or weapons, run normal trials. If you're looking for jewelry, run vet. It's the same as farming any other dungeon gear.

Also, normal trials are easier than vet trials. Much easier.

The armor and weapon drops from vet trials is of purple quality. Rings that drop from chests on vet will also be purple... however the jewelry drop from the FINAL boss is guaranteed to occur and also guaranteed to be gold to boot.

Vet trials also have achievements/titles and competitive scoring attached to them besides also presenting much more of a challenge (which some also enjoy) than their normal counterparts.

Hardmode Trials will give you 2 Golden Jewelry pieces at last boss. Non HM Veteran Trials will still give 1 Golden Jewelry piece. The last boss will also give a weapon or a shield at the end. Everything else in the Veteran Trial is purple and normal is all blue, this includes chests.

What's the point of vet trials? They are fun to run of course! They are much harder than normal trials, so if you are doing to just farm gear for yourself (remember they are bound), just do normal. You also get like 12-15k gold per clear on vet (extra 10k bonus for hard mode).

The only gear you can get on vet that you can't obtain through normal and improving is the jewelry.

Normal trials drop blue gear and secondary sets have a higher drop rate.

Vet trials drop purple gear and the primary sets drop at a higher rate.

Weekly leaderboard rewards are gold quality.

Cheats can still drop purple in either difficulty level.

The point is which gear sets one wants as well as the additional challenge. Also was he hugged wualitu leaderboard.

Challenge yourself and do a veteran trial.

The drop chance for VO/IA/EY gear in the Craglorn trials on Normal is significantly lower then on the Veteran parts. If you are after these sets then try to find a group for Hel Ra, that's the easiest veteran trial out there.
They changed that for MoL and HoF, where both normal and veteran share the same loot table.

You farm normal for the standard gear that drops in craglorn trials, aka twice fanged serpent, mending, wise mage set. In vet, gear like vicious ophidian, infallible aether, and eternal yokeda drop more often than the standard gear in trials. and who cares if armor or weapons are blue, you can always upgrade to gold anyways.

If you want purple or gold jewelry, then you do vet, hard mode if yoy want two pieces of gold jewelry, vet craglorn trials arent even that difficult. vmol or vhof on the other hand...

Normal mode drops blue items from the bosses and from the chests. You get an coffer after completing the quest from which you can get epic jewelry or items. You can have one coffer per week per character so that's why it is recommend to run the trials with different characters per week.

Veteran modes drop epic from the bosses and gold from the last boss / coffer. Same goes here, it is recommend to run it with different characters, but veteran modes can be difficult if you don't know what todo. Normal modes are easy as long as u have decent tank and healer.

Like told it's it more easy and faster to run normal modes to farm the armor pieces which you can update to legendary, but if people are looking for the jewelry then vet mode is a must.
