C.O.D. fee refund

This pisses me off. I get there is a COD fee, but why don't I get that back if the "buyer"was trolling me?

I was selling Psijic Ambrosia Recipe for 110K, this guy said COD it to me, and add the COD fee. So I did, COD'ed it to him for 116K, 110K for the recipe and 6K COD fee.

Then he doesn't pick up his item, so after three days it's returned to me, but I lost 6K on a troll. Why can't the COD fee be refunded if the article isn't picked up?

In the real world you might even end up paying for the return delivery. ;-)

Have you contacted them to ask? Might have been a change of mind or found it cheaper

They might be oblivious to the fee.

Did he agree to pay the COD fee? It could be why the other player did not accept your COD, maybe he expected to pay 110k and not 116k.

I do agree that if the COD email does not get accepted, you should get the refund for the postage. It's all virtual anyway.

Everything, fee included gets returned to you, even the 'postage.'

    Everything.

EDIT: The way it may seem it doesn't get returned is if your inventory is full at the time. It will still add the returned gold, all of it, to your total, but the item will remain attached until you have an open spot.

COD only charges a fee if the item is actually delivered.

Heck, be glad it was returned to you in 3 days. I think it used to be 30 days if they did not accept it or return it.

This isn't the real world. I wouldn't have to pay 6000 euros to send a paper with a recipe on it in the real world.

When people don't pay me over cod on an agreed upon price I'll message them and ask what's up? I usually give them a few hours. If after a few hours still nothing I split wall repair kits into a single item and cod them for 100g until I get my items back..

    This works EVERY SINGLE time.

ZOS could fix this in a very simple way.

The COD fee should not be paid by sender as a part of postage fee. When sending item sender would still pay a small postage fee, its 10 gold or even less if I recall?

The COD fee itself should be paid separately by buyer who receives the mail. Just as now, when they open a mail they are asked "are you sure you want to pay X gold for " (and in no way they are informed that Y part of it is a postage fee while buyer gets only Z part of it) with this change, when seller asks 10k gold for item, he pays only small postage fee but its the buyer who upon attempting to loot items from mail will be asked to pay 10537g and will be informed"10k of payment to seller and 537g of postage fee".

Thats it, no more COD trolling, no more fake postage fee where buyer charges 2 times more than normal, no more figuring out how much to put in COD to get your gold (because its not 5% of the price, its 5% of the current value put in COD fee or more precisely 10 gold + 1 gold every 20 gold of COD fee).

Inb4 someone posts "but people will start to decline COD mails if it costs more than item price since not everyone knows how much COD fee is" - well then its about time to learn about cod fee. Sellers are paying it since ever, time for buyers to realise its existence.

And at the same time ZOS could make it it so COD fee actually would be now a flat 5% instead of current hocus pocus recursive formula.

Be careful with that. Someone thought it would be funny to send a friend a bunch of lockpicks one at a time on his birthday. ZoS saw it as a spam attack or something even though it wasn't reported and turns out the sender trolled themselves.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

COD fee should be refunded when the mail is returned.
COD should last 24h or 72h (3 days) max. Unpicked mail with unpaid item being stuck there simply sucks.

COD sucks. People use it to troll all the time.

Face to face is generally better, if you're careful.

But the best method is just using guild trader.
